<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paper holder which can be kept under a condition where a holder is opened, and in which the holder is easily opened and closed. <P>SOLUTION: A metal base 20 and a resin base 80 are fixed on a bed sheet 12 of the paper holder 10 as base sheets. An intermediate part 30b of the holder 30 is turnably supported on the metal base 20. A one side part 30a of the holder 30 is energized by a coil spring 32 on a main face member 22 side of the metal base 20. An opening operating member 40 for opening the holder 30 is formed on the other side part 30c of the holder 30. A hooking member 94 for hooking the opening operating member 40 under a condition where the holder 30 is opened is formed on the resin base 80. この発明の背景となる従来の紙挟みの一例が、たとえば特許第2623232号公報に開示されている。図19はこのような従来の紙挟みの一例を示す斜視図である。図19に示す紙挟み1は台板2を含む。台板2の端部には、挟持体3が設けられる。挟持体3は、一方側部分3aがトーションばね(図示せず)で台板2に向けて付勢されている。そのため、台板2と挟持体3の一方側部分3aとで書類などを挟持することができる。挟持体3の他方側部分3bの近傍には、ストッパ部材4が設けられる。ストッパ部材4は、台板2に対して挟持体3の一方側部分3aがトーションばねの付勢力に抗して開かれた状態で、挟持体3をロックするためのものである。さらに、ストッパ部材4は、それを押圧することによって、挟持体3のロックを解除して挟持体3の一方側部分3aを閉じるためのものである。

図20に示す用箋挟5では、操作部材8を引き上げることによって、台板6に対して挟持体7の一方側部分7aを開くことができ、操作部材8をさらに引き上げて起こすことによって、挟持体7の一方側部分7aを開いた状態で挟持体7をロックすることができる。また、図20に示す用箋挟5では、操作部材8を押圧して倒すことによって、挟持体7のロックを解除して挟持体7の一方側部分7aを閉じることができる。
図19に示す紙挟み1および図20に示す用箋挟5では、それぞれ、台板に対して挟持体を開いた状態で維持することができるので、台板と挟持体との間に書類などを挿入しやすい。

また、図20に示す用箋挟5では、台板6に対して挟持体7の一方側部分7aを開く際に、操作部材8を引き上げなければならない。そのため、図20に示す用箋挟5では、挟持体7を開く際に操作部材8が操作しにくく、挟持体7を開けにくい。
