本発明は、ファイル名等の情報表示に用いて好適なファイル管理方法、ファイル管理装置およびプログラムに関する。

【従来の技術】
パーソナルコンピュータ等に用いられている各種のファイル管理アプリケーションプログラムにおいては、ハードディスク等に記録されているファイルの一覧表をディスプレイに表示することができる。そして、かかるファイル一覧表画面においては、ファイルネーム順、ファイルサイズ順、タイムスタンプ順およびこれらの逆順等、必要に応じてユーザが表示順序を指定することが可能になっている。かかる処理は、例えばハードディスクの所定領域にあるファイルアロケーションテーブルを読出し、読み出した結果に対してソーティング処理を施し、その結果をディスプレイに表示することによって実現されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、楽音信号を発生させるための様々な機器、例えばハードディスクレコーダ、音源装置、エフェクタ装置等は、パーソナルコンピュータ等と比較してメモリの実装量が少ないため、ファイル一覧表画面の表示処理のために多大なリソースを消費すると、他の処理に支障を来す等の問題が生じる。さらに、これらの機器においては、ハードディスクのアクセス速度が低速であるため、表示処理に時間を要するという問題もあった。
この発明は上述した事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、少ないリソースで迅速にファイル一覧表画面を表示できるファイル管理方法、ファイル管理装置およびプログラムを提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するため本発明にあっては、下記構成を具備することを特徴とする。なお、括弧内は例示である。
請求項1記載のファイル管理方法にあっては、ディスク上の同心円状の複数のトラックに沿って情報が記録され、各々が当該トラックを放射状に分割してなる一または複数の領域によって情報の記録および再生を行うための記憶単位(クラスタ)が構成されるとともに、複数のファイルを記憶するディスク状記録媒体に適用されるファイル管理方法であって、前記複数のファイルのうち何れかに対する追加または削除に伴って、これらファイルを所定の順序でソートした結果を一の特定の記憶単位に格納するソート結果格納過程(SP12)と、該特定の記憶単位に格納されているソート結果に基づいた順序によって、前記各ファイルを指標する情報を表示する表示過程(SP40)とを有することを特徴とする。
さらに、請求項2記載の構成にあっては、請求項1記載のファイル管理方法において、前記ソート結果格納過程(SP12)は、前記各ファイルを複数種類のソート方法に基づいて各々ソートして成る複数のソート結果を、一または複数の特定の記憶単位に格納する過程であり、これら複数種類のソート方法のうち何れかを選択する選択過程(SP30)をさらに有し、前記表示過程は、この選択されたソート方法に対応する特定の記憶単位に格納されているソート結果に基づいた順序によって、前記各ファイルを指標する情報を表示する過程であることを特徴とする。
また、請求項3記載のファイル管理装置にあっては、請求項1または2記載のファイル管理方法を実行することを特徴とする。
また、請求項4記載のプログラムにあっては、請求項1または2記載のファイル管理方法を実行することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
1.実施形態の構成
1.1.ハードウエア構成
次に、本発明の一実施形態のハードディスクレコーダのハードウエア構成を図1を参照し説明する。
図において4はメモリであり、イニシャルプログラムローダ等を記憶したROMとワークメモリとして用いられるRAMとから構成されている。2はCPUであり、メモリ4内に展開されたプログラム(詳細は後述する)に従って各部を制御する。6はハードディスクであり、オペレーティングシステム、アプリケーションプログラム、演奏情報であるソングファイル、波形データであるトーンファイル等を格納する。8は操作部であり、ユーザによって操作される各種の操作子によって構成されている。10はLCD(液晶表示装置)であり、CPU2の制御の下、各種の情報を表示する。12は信号処理部であり、MIDI信号等の演奏情報および波形データの入出力を行う。

ここで、ハードディスク6においては、ディスク上の同心円状の複数のトラックに沿って情報が記録される。各トラックを放射状に分割したものを「セクタ」という。ハードディスクレコーダのオペレーティングシステムにおいては、一または複数のセクタをまとめた「クラスタ」単位でデータが管理される。なお、1クラスタを何セクタとするかは媒体やオペレーティングシステムの種類によって様々である。

1.2.データ構造
次に、ハードディスク6のクラスタマップを図2を参照し説明する。図において20はOS領域であり、クラスタマップの先頭部分に設けられ、ハードディスクレコーダのオペレーティングシステムを格納する。次に、22はプログラム領域であり、後述するアプリケーションプログラム等が格納される。38はソングファイル・トーンファイル領域であり、ソングファイルおよびトーンファイルの実体が格納される。24はファイルリスト領域であり、これらソングファイルおよびトーンファイル(以下、実体ファイルという)の各々に対応して、これら実体ファイルに関連する情報である「ファイルリストユニット」というデータを記憶する。

例えば、合計「m+1」個の実体ファイルがソングファイル・トーンファイル領域38に記憶されているのであれば、ファイルリスト領域24には、ファイルリストユニット40−0〜40−mが記憶される。なお、これらファイルリストユニットの符号は「40−k」(k=0,1,…,m)の形で表されるが、このうち「k」の部分を「ファイルリストユニットナンバ」と呼ぶ。

ここで、各ファイルリストユニット40−kは、実体ファイルのファイルネームを記憶するファイルネーム部50と、該実体ファイルの作成日時を示すタイムスタンプ部52と、該実体ファイルのサイズを示すデータサイズ部54と、該実体ファイルがソングファイルであるのかトーンファイルであるのかを示すアトリビュート部56と、ファイル保護(プロテクト)のオン/オフを示すプロテクト部58と、実体ファイルが格納されている領域の先頭クラスタを示すファイルクラスタ部60とから構成されている。

次に、26はソングファイル・ネームソート情報部であり、各ソングファイルのファイルネームをアルファベット順にソートした時の配列順序が格納されている。70は前ナンバ記憶部であり、ここには、各ファイルリストユニットナンバk(k=0,1,…,m)に対して、ファイルネームをアルファベット順にソートした時の順番において当該ファイルリストユニットナンバkの前に位置するファイルリストユニットナンバである前ナンバPFkが記憶される。

また、80は後ナンバ記憶部であり、ここにはアルファベット順において当該ファイルリストユニットナンバkの後に位置するファイルリストユニットナンバである後ナンバNFkが記憶される。そして、アルファベット順で先頭に位置するファイルリストユニットナンバkに対しては、前ナンバPFkとして所定のトップコード「FF」が格納され、最後に位置するファイルリストユニットナンバkに対しては、後ナンバNFkとしてエンドコード「FE」が格納される。

次に、28はソングファイル・サイズソート情報部であり、ファイルサイズの大きい順に各ソングファイルをソートした時の配列順序が格納されている。30はソングファイル・デートソート情報部であり、作成日時が新しい順に各ソングファイルをソートした時の配列順序が格納されている。さらに、トーンファイルについても、ソングファイルと同様に、ファイルネームをアルファベット順にソートした時の配列順序を格納するトーンファイル・ネームソート情報部32と、ファイルサイズの大きい順に各トーンファイルをソートした時の配列順序を格納するトーンファイル・サイズソート情報部34と、作成日時が新しい順に各トーンファイルをソートした時の配列順序を格納するトーンファイル・デートソート情報部36とが設けられている。これらソート情報部28〜36のデータフォーマットは、ソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26のデータフォーマットと同様であり、各ファイルリストユニットナンバkに対して、配列順序に従った前ナンバPFkおよび後ナンバNFkが記憶される。

ここで、各ソート情報部26〜36は、ハードディスク6の1クラスタ内に収納される固定長のデータ長を有している。これにより、ソート情報部26〜36のうち任意のものをハードディスク6から読み出す時間は、1クラスタを読み出す時間に等しくすることができ、各ソート情報部26〜36の内容を迅速に読み出すことが可能である。なお、必ずしも一のクラスタが一のソート情報部に対応するわけではなく、一のクラスタに複数のソート情報部を格納してもよい。

ここで、ソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26の具体例を図3(a)を参照し説明する。まず、図2におけるソングファイル・トーンファイル領域38に5曲のソングファイルが格納されており、ファイルリスト領域24には、これら5曲のソングファイルについてファイルリストユニットナンバ「0」〜「4」が付与され、ファイルリストユニット40−0〜40−4が記憶されていることとする。そして、各ファイルリストユニット40−0〜40−4のファイルネーム部50には、「NIGHTWING」、「MAGIC」、「FRIEND」、「WHAT’s NEW?」および「I
LOVE YOU」なるファイルネームが順次格納されていることとする。

これらファイルネームをアルファベット順にソートすると、「FRIEND」(02)、「I LOVE YOU」(04)、「MAGIC」(01)、「NIGHTWING」(00)および「WHAT’s NEW?」(03)の順になる。なお、括弧内はファイルリストユニットナンバである。ここで、「NIGHTWING」(00)に着目すると、アルファベット順にソートした時に前に位置するファイルリストユニットは「MAGIC」(01)であり、後に位置するファイルリストユニットは「WHAT’s NEW?」(03)である。このため、図3(a)のソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26にあっては、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「00」について前ナンバPF0は「01」に、後ナンバNF0は「03」に、各々設定されている。

同様に、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「01」(MAGIC)について前ナンバPF1は「04」(I LOVE YOU)、後ナンバNF1は「00」(NIGHTWING)である。また、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「02」(FRIEND)は、アルファベット順にソートした時に先頭に位置するから、その前ナンバPF2はトップコード「FF」であり、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「03」(WHAT’s NEW?)は末尾に位置するから、その後ナンバNF3はエンドコード「FE」である。ところで、本実施形態においては、ファイルリストユニットナンバkの最大値mが「127」であることとし、予めm=127に対応する領域が確保されている。このため、ソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26中のファイルリストユニットナンバ「05」〜「127(16進数では7F)」には、対応する実体ファイルが存在しないことを示すノーファイルコード「F0」が格納される。

2.実施形態の動作
2.1.メインプログラムの動作
次に、本実施形態に動作を説明する。本実施形態のハードディスクレコーダの電源が投入されると、図5に示すメインプログラムが起動される。図において処理がステップSP2に進むと、所定の初期化処理が行われる。次に処理がステップSP4に進むと、ソングファイル作成処理が実行される。すなわち、外部から信号処理部12を介してMIDI信号等が供給されいる場合にあっては、供給されているMIDIコード等がメモリ4に格納される。なお、特に外部からMIDI信号等が供給されていない場合には、ステップSP4において実質的な処理は実行されない。

次に、処理がステップSP6に進むと、先にステップSP4においてメモリ4上にソングファイル作成された場合には、該ソングファイルをソングファイル・トーンファイル領域38にセーブするか否かを問い合わせるメッセージがLCD10に表示される。ここで、ユーザによってセーブを指示する操作が操作部8において実行されると、ステップSP6においては「YES」と判定され、処理はステップSP8に進む。ステップSP8においては、作成されたソングファイルの実体がソングファイル・トーンファイル領域38に記憶される。

次に、処理がステップSP10に進むと、この新たに記憶されたソングファイルのファイルリストユニットがファイルリスト領域24内に新たに生成される。なお、新たに生成されたファイルリストユニットのファイルリストユニットナンバを「x」とする。次に、処理がステップSP12に進むと、各ソート情報部26〜30の内容が更新される。すなわち、ソングファイルに係るソート情報部26〜30の内容がハードディスク6から読み出され、新たなファイルリストユニットxを追加するように当該読み出された内容が編集され、しかる後にその編集結果が新たなソート情報部26〜30としてハードディスク6に書き込まれる。なお、各ソート情報部26〜30の更新方法の詳細については後述する。次に、処理がステップSP14に進むと、ファイルリストユニットナンバxに関するセーブは完了した旨がLCD10に表示される。

ところで、上述したステップSP6においては、先にステップSP4においてソングファイルの作成が行われなかった場合には無条件に「NO」と判定され、上記ステップSP8〜SP14の処理はスキップされる。また、ソングファイルが作成された場合であっても、当該ソングファイルをセーブしない旨がユーザによって指示されると、ステップSP6において同様に「NO」と判定され、ステップSP8〜SP14の処理はスキップされる。

次に、処理がステップSP16に進むと、ソングファイルの削除処理が実行される。すなわち、操作部8を介して、何れかのソングファイルの削除を指示する操作がユーザによって実行されると、当該ソングファイルがソングファイル・トーンファイル領域38から削除され、さらに、当該ソングファイルのファイルリストユニットが削除されるとともに、ソート情報部26〜30の内容が更新される。このように、ソングファイルを削除した場合についても、各ソート情報部26〜30の更新方法の詳細については後述する。

次に、処理がステップSP18に進むと、図6および図7に示すLCD表示サブルーチンが呼び出され(詳細は後述する)、その時々の操作部8における操作内容に基づいて、ファイル一覧表画面等がLCD10に表示される。次に、処理がステップSP20に進むと、その他の処理が実行される。例えば、上述したステップSP4〜SP16と同様に、トーンファイルについても作成・削除等の処理が実行され、必要な場合にソングファイル、トーンファイルの再生処理等も実行される。上記各ステップが修了すると、処理はステップSP4に戻り、以後は同様の処理が繰り返されることになる。

2.2.ソート情報部の更新処理
2.2.1.追加例(1)
次に、上記ステップSP12およびSP16において実行されるソート情報部の更新処理の詳細について、例を挙げて説明する。まず、図3(a)におけるファイルリスト領域24に対して、ファイルネームが「GETDOWN」である新たなソングファイルに係るファイルリストユニットが追加され、これに対して新たなファイルリストユニットナンバ「5」が付与されたとする。ここで、当該「GETDOWN」を含めて各ファイル名に対してアルファベット順の順序を改めて付与すると、図3(b)に示す通りになる。すなわち、「GETDOWN」はアルファベット順では第2番目であるため、元々第2番目以降のソングファイルの順序は「1」づつ繰り下がることになる。

この順序変更をソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26に対して反映するため、まずメモリ4にソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26の内容がロードされ、図3(b)に示すように、そのファイルリストユニットナンバ「5」に対応する箇所が変更される。すなわち、第2番目の「GETDOWN」(05)は、第1番目の「FRIEND」(02)の次の順序であり、「GETDOWN」(05)の次は第3番目の「I LOVE YOU」(04)であるため、「GETDOWN」(05)についての前ナンバPF5は「FRIEND」(02)に、後ナンバNF5は「I LOVE YOU」(04)に、各々設定される。さらに、これらと整合するように、「FRIEND」(02)の後ナンバNF2および「I LOVE YOU」(04)の前ナンバPF4は、共に「GETDOWN」(05)に変更される。以上のように変更された結果が新たなソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26の内容として、ハードディスク6に書き込まれる。

2.2.2.削除例(1)
次に、図3(a)の状態に対して、「MAGIC」(01)に係るファイルリストユニットが削除されたこととする。ここで、当該「MAGIC」(01)を除いて各ファイル名に対してアルファベット順の順序を改めて付与すると、図3(c)に示す通りになる。すなわち、「MAGIC」(01)はアルファベット順では元々第3番目であったため、元々第4番目以降であったソングファイルの順序は「1」づつ繰り上がることになる。

2.2.3.追加例(2)
次に、図3(a)の状態に対して、アルファベット順で先頭に位置するファイルリストユニットが追加された場合の例を説明しておく。まず、図3(a)におけるファイルリスト領域24に対して、ファイルネームが「BABE」である新たなソングファイルに係るファイルリストユニットが追加され、これに対して新たなファイルリストユニットナンバ「5」が付与されたとする。ここで、当該「BABE」を含めて各ファイル名に対してアルファベット順の順序を改めて付与すると、図3(d)に示す通りになる。すなわち、「BABE」はアルファベット順では先頭であり、他のソングファイルの順序は「1」づつ繰り下がることになる。

このように本実施形態においては、新たなファイルリストユニットが追加あるいは削除された場合に、ソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26の修正箇所は僅かであり、きわめて迅速に更新処理が行えることが解る。なお、上記例はソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26について説明したが、他のソート情報部28〜30についても、新たなファイルリストユニットが追加あるいは削除された場合は、各々のソート順序に基づいて同様に更新される。また、トーンファイル用のソート情報部32〜36についても、トーンファイルが追加または削除された場合には同様に更新される。

2.3.LCD表示サブルーチンの動作
2.3.1.デフォルトの動作
次に、ステップSP18において呼び出されるLCD表示サブルーチンの動作を図6および図7を参照し説明する。
図6において処理がステップSP30に進むと、表示内容選択処理が実行される。すなわち、操作部8内において、表示内容を選択するための各種操作子の状態が検出される。次に、処理がステップSP32に進むと、ソングファイルリストの表示が選択されているか否かが判定される。すなわち、上記ステップSP30の実行前にソングファイルリストの表示が選択されており該ステップSP30においてその状態が変更されていない場合、および、上記ステップSP30においてソングファイルリストの表示が新たに選択された場合が、「ソングファイルリストの表示が選択されている」状態に該当する。

なお、初期設定時(SP2)においてはソングファイルリストの表示が選択されるため、初期設定時以降に特に操作部8が操作されていなければ、ソングファイルリストの表示が選択されている状態になる。ステップSP32において「YES」と判定されると、処理はステップSP38に進み、メモリ4内の所定領域に格納されているデフォルトフラグが“0”であるか否かが判定される。なお、デフォルトフラグは、初期設定時(SP2)においては“0”にイニシャライズされている。初期設定時以降にデフォルトフラグが変更されていなければここで「YES」と判定され処理はステップSP40に進む。

ステップSP40においては、ソングファイル・ネームソート情報部26の内容がハードディスク6から読み出され、先頭のソングファイルネームからアルファベットの昇順にファイルネームが表示される。その方法について詳述する。まず、先頭のファイルリストユニットナンバを検索するために、前ナンバPFkがトップコード「FF」であるファイルリストユニットナンバkが検索される。図3(a)の例にあっては、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「02」の前ナンバPF2にトップコード「FF」が格納されていることが解る。

次に、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「04」(I LOVE YOU)の後ナンバNF4が参照される。図3(a)の例にあっては、後ナンバNF4は「01」であるから、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「01」に対応するファイルリストユニット40−1からファイルネーム部50、タイムスタンプ部52、データサイズ部54の内容が読み出される。これにより、ファイルリストユニットナンバ「01」(MAGIC)についてLCD10に表示すべき内容が全てメモリ4内に読み込まれることになる。

以下同様に、現在参照中のファイルリストユニットナンバkについてファイルネーム部50等の内容が読み出され、しかる後に後ナンバNFkとして記憶されているナンバを新たなファイルリストユニットナンバkとして同様の動作が繰り返えされる。これにより、LCD10に表示すべき内容が次々とメモリ4内に読み込まれることになる。そして、後ナンバNFkがエンドコード「FE」になった場合、あるいは既に読み込まれたファイルネーム部50等の数がLCD10に表示可能な最大値に達した場合に、かかる読み込み処理が完了する。

表示内容の読み込みが修了すると、この内容がLCD10に表示される。その場合の表示例を図4(a)に示す。図において、各行は個々のソングファイルに対応し、各ソングファイルに対して「SONG NAME」(ソングファイルネーム)、「SIZE」(ファイルサイズ)、DATE(タイムスタンプ)の列が設けられている。そして、図示の場合は「SONG NAME」(ソングファイルネーム)順にソングファイルがソートされているため、「SONG NAME」のタイトル欄が反転表示されている。

図6に戻り、次に処理がステップSP42に進むと、デフォルトフラグが“1”に設定され、処理がメインプログラムに戻る。メインプログラムにおいてはステップSP4〜SP20のループが繰り返されるため、繰り返しの度にLCD表示サブルーチンが呼び出される。ユーザが操作部8に対してなんら操作を行わなかった場合には、処理はステップSP30、ステップSP32を介して再びステップSP38に進む。ここでは、先にデフォルトフラグが“1”に設定されたため、「NO」と判定され、処理はステップSP44に進む。

以下、ステップSP44、SP48、SP52、SP56、SP60、SP64およびSP68においては、何れも操作部8において所定のイベントが検出されたか否かが判定される。ユーザが操作部8を全く操作していない状態では、これらのステップにおいて何れも「NO」と判定され、最後にステップSP68において「NO」と判定された後に処理はメインプログラムに戻る。換言すれば、LCD表示サブルーチンにおいて実質的な処理は全く行われない。従って、最初にステップSP40において表示されたアルファベット順のソングファイルリストがそのまま継続してLCD10に表示され続けることになる。

2.3.2.各種イベントに対する処理
(1)ファイルネーム昇順表示
