Abstract
Description
【0001】

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the invention according to claim 1 reflects a lamp (for example, 2 in FIG. 2) and a light beam emitted from a light emitting unit (for example, 2s in FIG. 2) of the lamp to collect the light. A light source unit (e.g., 11 in FIG. 2) including a reflector (e.g., 1 in FIG. 2) for emitting light,
The lamp includes the light emitting unit formed to be very small with respect to the size of the reflector, and a lamp bulb (for example, 21 in FIG. 2) enclosing the light emitting unit,
The reflector is configured to determine a position (for example, V in FIG. 2) of a virtual image of the light emitting unit when a light beam emitted from the light emitting unit and refracted by the cross-sectional shape of the lamp bulb is viewed from an outer surface of the lamp bulb. An ellipse E ′ having a point (for example, F in FIG. 2) as two focal points is obtained by rotating the ellipse E ′ around an optical axis (for example, x in FIG. 2) connecting the light emitting unit and the converging point. It is characterized by being formed in a shape.
Actually, when each light beam emitted from the outer surface of the lamp bulb is extended to the light emitting portion side, the virtual image of the light emitting portion is not actually concentrated at one point but spread to a certain area (for example, V 0 in FIG. 4). ). For example, the shape of the ellipse E ′ can be determined by calculating the position of the center of gravity of the brightness of the virtual image of the light emitting unit and setting it as the position V of the virtual image of the light emitting unit.
Further, as the above-mentioned lamp, a lamp having a light-emitting portion smaller than about several mm, such as a high-pressure mercury lamp, a short arc metal halide lamp, or a xenon short arc lamp, can be suitably used.

However, the light collecting property is hardly impaired, and the utilization rate of light rays can be increased.
Further, the design of the reflector can be performed by a simple calculation.
