Abstract
Description
【0001】
このページ記述データは、このように通信網300を介する以外に、CD−R(Compact Disc Recordable)やMO(光磁気ディスク)等の記憶媒体によって入力されてもよい。
【0033】
通信用ボード116は、LAN(Local Area Network)等といった通信回線に接続される。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a color for converting first image data in which the color of an image is expressed by coordinates in the first color space into second image data in which the color of the image is expressed by coordinates in the second color space. The present invention relates to a conversion device and a color conversion program that causes a computer to operate as a color conversion device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, when printing a color image using a printing machine, before printing, a color printer or the like is used to create a proof image that resembles the color of the image printed by the printing machine as much as possible. It has been made. When creating a proof image with a printer, color reproduction characteristics (print profile) describing the relationship between the image data and the color of the actual printed material, corresponding to the printing machine that is about to print, and the printer Knowing the color reproduction characteristics (printer profile) describing the relationship between the image data and the color of the image that is actually printed, create a color conversion definition consisting of the combination of these print profile and printer profile. The image data for printing is converted into image data for printer based on the color conversion definition, and a proof image is created based on the converted image data for printer. By doing so, it is possible to create a proof image whose color matches that of the actual printed matter.
[0003]
In order to obtain an image in which colors are matched as described above, it is necessary to accurately obtain the color reproduction characteristics (profile) of an output device such as a printing press or a printer. In obtaining this color reproduction characteristic (profile), image data corresponding to a color chart in which color patches are arranged is created, a color chart is output by an output device based on the image data, and the color chart is spectroscopically measured. The color of the output device is determined by associating the coordinates of the colorimetric color space obtained in this way with a colorimeter and the coordinates of the color space (device color space) in which the image data is represented. Desired.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the color reproduction characteristics (profiles) of output devices such as printing presses and printers are carefully determined in this way, and image data is converted based on the color conversion definition that is a combination of these color reproduction characteristics (profiles). However, there is often a phenomenon in which the color between the printed matter and the proof image is slightly different due to various errors and fluctuation factors. For this reason, it has been proposed to modify the profile and the color conversion definition in order to correctly match such slightly different colors.
[0005]
However, even if there is only one printer that creates a proof image, the printing machine that reproduces the color of the image from the proof image is often intended for multiple printing machines. There are a plurality of profiles and color conversion definitions, and there is a problem that it is complicated to correct each of the plurality of print profiles and color conversion definitions.
[0006]
Such a problem does not occur only between output devices such as printing presses and printers, but corrects the color of images between input devices such as color scanners and between input devices and output devices. It is a problem that arises when matching.
[0007]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In view of the above circumstances, the present invention provides a color conversion device that can realize matching of colors of an image with a simple operation, and a color conversion program that causes a computer to operate as such a color conversion device. With the goal.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The color conversion device of the present invention that achieves the above object converts the first image data expressed by the coordinates of the first color space into the second image data expressed by the coordinates of the second color space. A color conversion unit;
A level on which at least one of the colors of the image represented by each of the first image data and the second image data is subjected to gradation correction defined by an operation and in which gradation correction can be switched between valid and invalid. And a tone correction unit.
[0009]
Errors and fluctuation factors that cause subtle differences in image colors include those that do not depend on input devices or output devices, such as interpolation errors caused by interpolation calculations used when creating color conversion definitions. Exists. In addition, the color conversion apparatus is intended for a predetermined one printer and the like, and there is a variation factor due to a change with time of the printer or the like. For this reason, in an actual color conversion apparatus, it is often possible to correctly match the colors of an image by applying a common correction to a plurality of profiles and color conversion definitions. Further, as correction in that case, correction by gradation correction is desirable in that a sufficiently accurate correction can be realized by a simple operation.
[0010]
Therefore, in the present invention, a gradation correction unit that performs gradation correction on the color of an image is provided independently of the color conversion unit.
[0011]
However, when a profile or color conversion definition is created, a profile or color conversion definition in which all the other processing units except for the color conversion unit are normally valid and the processing by them is incorporated is created. However, if a profile or a color conversion definition is created while the tone correction unit is still valid, correction for correctly matching the colors of the image will be cancelled. Therefore, the gradation correction unit according to the present invention is configured to be able to switch the validity / invalidity of gradation correction. Thereby, it can avoid that correction is canceled as mentioned above.
[0012]
The color conversion device of the present invention is
“The gradation correction unit switches between valid and invalid in response to an operation to instruct validity / invalidity of the gradation correction.”
Or may be
“The color conversion unit converts the first image data into the second image data based on the color conversion definition that defines the correspondence between the coordinates of the first color space and the coordinates of the second color space. Yes,
The tone correction unit disables tone correction when creating a color conversion definition, and enables tone correction when the created color conversion definition is used. ''
It may be said.
[0013]
When receiving an operation for directly instructing the validity / invalidity of gradation correction, the operator can consciously control the validity / invalidity of gradation correction. Further, when the gradation correction unit automatically switches the validity / invalidity of the gradation correction, the operator can use the color conversion device with a simple operation without being aware of the switching.
[0014]
A color conversion program according to the present invention that achieves the above object is incorporated in a computer system, the first image data represented by the coordinates of the first color space, and the coordinates of the second color space. A color conversion program that operates as a color conversion device for converting into expressed second image data,
A color conversion unit for converting the first image data into the second image data;
A level on which at least one of the colors of the image represented by each of the first image data and the second image data is subjected to gradation correction defined by an operation and in which gradation correction can be switched between valid and invalid. And a tone correction unit.
[0015]
It should be noted that the color conversion program according to the present invention is only shown in its basic form here, but this is only for avoiding duplication, and the color conversion program according to the present invention has the above basic form. In addition to the color conversion program, various forms of color conversion programs corresponding to the above-described forms of the color conversion apparatus are included.
[0016]
Further, in the color conversion device of the present invention and the color conversion program, the same names such as a color conversion unit are given as component names constituting them, but in the case of a color conversion program, It refers to software that performs such an action, and in the case of a color conversion device, it refers to software that includes hardware.
[0017]
Further, the computer system in which the color conversion program of the present invention is incorporated may be composed of one computer and peripheral devices, or may include a plurality of computers.
[0018]
Further, the components such as the color conversion unit constituting the color conversion program of the present invention may be one in which the function of one component is carried by one program component, and the function of one component is plural. It may be carried by a program part, or the functions of a plurality of components may be carried by one program part. In addition, these components may execute such actions themselves, or may be executed by giving instructions to other programs and program components incorporated in the computer. Also good.
