Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mail transmitting device, a mail transmitting method, and a program for editing an electronic mail and transmitting the electronic mail to another device via a network.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Publication No. H10-133873 discloses a method of transmitting only minimum necessary information to a user on a receiving side when transmitting an e-mail between devices having different display areas and memory capacities, particularly to a device having a limited display area and capacity. 2001-244173. When a mobile terminal sends a long text message exceeding the number of transmittable mail characters, a plurality of text input boxes for the number of transmittable mail characters are provided, divided into the number of displayable characters of the mobile terminal, and then transmitted to the mobile terminal. Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2001-344175 describes a method for transmitting data on the network side.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2001-244173 discloses that an e-mail message can be divided into a summary part and a detail part in a transmission-side device, and only the summary part or both the summary part and the detail part are determined depending on the destination. By transmitting, communication with all devices on the receiving side is established. When editing an e-mail to be sent, a warning is issued if the number of characters in the summary section exceeds the number of characters that can be received at the destination. Further, the division between the outline part and the detail part is recognized by the user inputting a specific character string at an arbitrary position. According to this conventional technique, the e-mail message can be divided into a summary part and a detail part on the transmission side, so that even when the receiving apparatus has a limit on the number of characters that can be received, the message can be accurately conveyed. I have to. However, when editing outgoing mail, it is determined whether the number of characters exceeds the allowable number of characters on the receiving side, and if it exceeds, the user is warned. Can not. Therefore, there is a new problem that it is difficult for the user to understand the length of a sentence when inputting a sentence. Also, there is no suggestion on how to send the full text including the details.
[0004]
The method described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-344175 is a method for coping with the problem on the network side. And then send it to the mobile terminal. When a mobile terminal transmits a long text message exceeding the number of transmittable mail characters, a plurality of text input boxes corresponding to the number of transmittable mail characters are provided, and the text input boxes are sequentially transmitted to the gateway server. The receiving terminal sends a page turning request to the gateway server so that long mails can be sequentially displayed. According to this conventional technique, all the contents of an outgoing mail can be sent to a destination. However, since the transmitting side cannot confirm the division position when editing the mail, the receiving side may have difficulty reading the mail. Also, since the route and time of arrival of the electronic mail are not guaranteed, the electronic mail does not always arrive at the receiving mailbox in order. Therefore, if there is a delay in the divided mail, the contents of the mail before and after the delayed mail may not be understood on the receiving side.
[0005]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a mail transmitting apparatus and a mail transmitting method that can transmit a long-sized mail in a mail capacity that can be received at a time by a receiving side and can be transmitted in a form that is easy for the receiving side to read. Another object of the present invention is to provide a mail transmitting apparatus and a mail transmitting method which can edit a text of a mail while a transmitting side confirms a division position and is easy to use.

This embodiment shows the details of the division transmission process (T108) in the first embodiment. As described above, after the text input is completed, the process proceeds to the divided transmission process. First, the counter n is set to n = 1, and a serial number is added to the subject of the mail (T112 to 113). The reason why the serial number is added to the subject is to make it easier for the recipient to understand the number of divisions and the order of division. Instead of adding the serial number to the subject, information that can be identified on the receiving side may be added to the mail data as information related to the order of division. For example, this information may be “A, B, C, D,. .. "(Or a combination of a plurality of characters) or information combining characters and numbers. Next, the mail
