According to the present invention, the powdery material obtained by the nitrate pyrolysis method is 500 to 750.
At a temperature of ° C., it is subjected to an additional firing step.
This calcination is preferably carried out in an oxygen-containing gas atmosphere having an oxygen content of up to 100%.
Can be done in the air.
The present invention also relates to a lithium manganese oxide produced according to this method,

About.
Good circuit stability combined with the target large capacity, especially the average
Has a stoichiometric composition, so that the doping agent is uniformly present in the material
In order to obtain a powder material that can be
It has a uniform and very small particle size, preferably less than 10 μm.
It has the following particle size.
When powdered lithium manganese oxide is produced by spray pyrolysis,
Indeed, experiments have proven that these high material requirements are met.
. In order to carry out this method, each oxidation in a hot reaction zone with rapid evaporation of the solvent is carried out.
The mixture of the seed salt solution or the corresponding suspension is prepared by mixing the desired compound of formula (I)
Used to produce manganese oxides.
A particularly preferred method for producing the above-mentioned lithium manganese mixed oxide is, in principle,
Can be characterized as nitrate pyrolysis. This method uses an aqueous solution of metal nitrate.
By using a suspension of the components in an aqueous nitrate solution of the solution or other components.
Can be implemented. Advantageously, this solution or suspension is
Depending on the product, aqueous solutions or suspensions of the components or nitrates used in stoichiometric amounts
It can be a suspension. The prepared solution or suspension is heated at 400 to 700 ° C.
In particular, at a temperature of 475 to 650 ° C., in an atmosphere of air or another specific gas.
Direct spraying allows the desired spray to be performed without the need for any additional workup.
The pinel product can be produced directly as a pure phase.
The practice of this method involves exothermic reactions that produce the desired mixed oxide.
It is preferred to use a salt solution of In this method, to start the reaction,
If the reaction vessel is initially required to be at a certain temperature,
Even if the subsequent reaction is optimally self-supporting and the temperature is maintained
There is an advantage that. Alternatively, the start of the reaction may be triggered by ignition (ignition) if necessary.
It is advantageous to carry out the treatment by nission.
The starting materials used to form the lithium manganese oxide of formula (I) are
In particular, it can be the nitrate of the metal desired in the product. However, another
Suitable salts such as acetates, citrates, hydroxides or water or water / alcohols
Other organometallic salts that are soluble in the alcohol mixture are included.
Alternatively, use the appropriate hydroxide in combination with the nitrate for this reaction.

And also the main groups of the Periodic Table of the Elements: II, III, IV, V and
Group VI or subgroup: Group I, Group II, Group IV, Group V, Group VII or
Group VIII, especially elements: Al, Co, Cr, Fe, Ge, Mg, Nb, Ni,
Additional suitable salts of metals from the group consisting of Sn, Ta, Te, V, W and Zn
, Can be used in the method according to the invention. This additional salt also contains water-soluble nitric acid
It is preferably a salt.
Prior to performing the spray pyrolysis process according to the present invention, at the stoichiometric ratio of the desired powder composition,
The salt is brought into solution. Particularly good properties are salts with 5-50%, especially 30-50%
Found in solutions present at a total concentration of
Suitable salt solutions include pure aqueous solutions and solvents, not only water, but also organic
Both solutions containing a solvent are included. Suitable organic solvents are especially water-miscible solvents
It is. For example, alcohols such as ethanol, methanol or propanol
Classes can be used for this purpose. However, at the same time working as a complexing agent
It is also possible to use other solvents that can be used, for example ethylene glycol.
Wear. However, due to their good solubility in water, the use of alcohol
preferable. Particularly preferred is the use of ethanol.
Organic solvents particularly help maintain the temperature during the spray pyrolysis reaction. Use organic solvent
The concentration of these solvents and the reaction temperature may
And that no residual carbon remains in the resulting mixed oxide.
Should. Otherwise, formation of the spinel structure is hindered.
Essentially, only the organic solvent was used, i.e. the concentration of organic solvent relative to the total amount of solvent.
Solutions with a degree up to 100% can be used.
Prepared to produce a novel lithium manganese oxide of the formula (I)
The salt solution is fed to an NPA reactor (NPA nitrate pyrolysis unit) adjusted to the operating temperature.
Spray inside. This reactor is a reactor specially developed by the applicant. the above
Spraying is performed by a twin nozzle by using a pump. In this way
The reaction solution sprayed into the reactor is thermally pyrolyzed and then finely divided in this way.
Convert to a dispersed free flowing powder.
Modifying the properties of this powder by subsequent heat treatment, depending on the subsequent application
Can be. This treatment is not only for physical properties, but also for electrochemical-physical properties.
Changes can be made so that they can be adapted to the application requirements.
Properties related to battery formation, such as particle size, specific surface area, oxygen content, etc.
And the lattice constants themselves by thermal post-treatment in a constant gas atmosphere,
Can be changed very easily.
Another advantage of the new method is that the doped mixture represented by the above general formula
The oxide can optionally be produced in a simple manner. A small amount of
The precursor material in the manufactured electrode, even when using
Is ensured uniformly.
The method of the present invention can be performed easily and quickly, even on a relatively large scale.
What can be done is particularly advantageous. Furthermore, because it is a self-supporting reaction,
This manufacturing method is distinguished by low energy input.
By appropriately controlling this reaction, the reaction outlet temperature of the nitrate pyrolysis unit can be increased.
Produces a powder that directly exists as the desired phase, ie, spinel, if selected appropriately
can do. This powder has a particle size of less than 10 μm and a high bulk density
Is a fine dispersible powder having
A subsequent firing step can be carried out, whereby the electrochemical properties, and also
Physicochemical properties can be changed.
This post-treatment includes, among other things, crystallinity, lattice constant, particle size, specific surface area and capacity.
It is considered to affect the city.
The decisive factors affecting this process are constant temperature, heating and cooling rates, and
Needless to say, it is a firing period. Other important parameters include
, The furnace gas atmosphere used and the crucible filling level.
If the purpose is to produce a practical cathode electrode, the resulting powdery product is
Intimately mix with the other ingredients, then optionally suspend. Examples of such required components
There are organic and inorganic binders and conductive additives. Can be added
Organic binders include PTFE, PVDF and other known to those skilled in the art for this purpose.
A binder is included. PTFE is particularly suitable. Suitable conductive additives include:
Carbon black, graphite, steel wool and other conductive fillings
Agents are included. 5 to 50 carbon black and graphite based on the total amount
Particularly good results have been obtained by adding in amounts of about 15% by weight, in particular about 15% by weight.
It is.
The powder in which all of these additives are blended is then electrodeposited in a manner known per se.
Convert to This is a wire clamp made of an inert material such as aluminum.
This can be done by compressing with very high pressure during the loss. As needed
Can subsequently be processed at elevated temperatures and the resulting product is dried
To process.
The electrode thus formed is used for forming a secondary chemical battery by a known method.
In this case, the carbon electrode can be used as a counter electrode in the presence of a neutral electrolyte.
Used as a habit. However, alternative designs for the corresponding chemical battery
It is also possible. For example, various additives such as gelling agents, silica gel or
Others can be used to increase the viscosity of the electrolyte, which is itself aqueous.
As a separator material, a suitable polymer fabric or bonded fiber web is
It can be placed between the poles and, if necessary, inserts a spacer again.
Polymer bonded fiber web can be PVA, polypropylene or other inert
It can be in the form of a polymeric material. Known from commercial batteries
The spacer can be corrugated and consist of eg PVC
