Since the cost is increased, an inexpensive one-way core that is less than the cost of recovery is required.
On the other hand, if a cheap core is used, a long distance
During transportation for a long time, moisture in the support escapes from the core side, or conversely, moisture moves from the core side to the support, which adversely affects the support and the coating layer on the support. There is.

It has been found that, in a photographic support, the water content of the base paper is required for the hardening of the emulsion layer. The use of a photographic support causes a problem that the resulting photographic printing paper does not work effectively. In the worst case, it is exposed to high temperature and high humidity during transportation, and trace components in the core are
It may migrate to the support side and cause fogging. In order to eliminate these troubles, the photographic support near the core must be broken over a long length. There is a need for a core that is cheaper than the recovery cost, including quality stability.

FIG. 1 shows a sectional view of a core of the present invention. Reference numeral 1 denotes a base material using paper as a structural material, 2 denotes a moisture-proof layer, and 3 denotes the entire core. The base material 1 obtains a predetermined strength by wrapping paper in several layers with an adhesive, or by wrapping and drying a wet paper and drying the obtained paper as a structural material. The thickness is adjusted as required, but in the case of a core for a photographic support, the thickness is preferably 50 mm or less and 5 mm or more in consideration of strength and cost. Among the papers, it is preferable to use a paper made of unbleached kraft pulp (UKP), which is not chemically damaged during the pulping process and has no strength reduction, and has a long fiber length, and furthermore, Unbleached hardwood pulp (LUKP), which is inexpensive and dense, is preferred. The water content of the paper constituting the base material is preferably set to 3.5 to 8.0% in order to secure the strength, and more preferably 4.5 to 6.5%. If it is less than 3.5%, the core may become brittle, or may be strongly absorbed by the external environment, resulting in a change in the dimensions of the core. 8.0%
If it is larger, the strength tends to decrease. If moisture is absorbed in a humid environment and an adhesive is used, the adhesion between paper layers, particularly at the interface between the moisture-proof layer and the base material, may be loosened.

The moisture-proof layer 2 is attached and laminated with glue near the outermost layer of a base material made of paper as a structural material. The moisture-proof layer may be provided so as to be exposed on the base material. However, it is preferable that the moisture-proof layer is sandwiched between the papers constituting the base material, since it is integrated with the core and the surface strength is not reduced. Therefore, although it is preferable that the base material be as high as possible, it is preferable that the base material be provided at a position within 40% and 2% or more of the thickness of the base material from the outer surface of the core. For example, when the thickness of the base material is 10 mm, it is preferable that the base material is provided in an inner layer of 2 to 3 mm from the outer surface of the core in view of the moisture-proof effect, the strength of the core, and the protection of the moisture-proof layer. The strength of the base material on the moisture-proof layer is ensured, and it is preferable that the thickness is small. Therefore, even if the base material has a thickness of 50 mm, it may be provided in the inner layer of 2 to 3 mm from the outer surface of the core. It may be preferable.

As the material constituting the moisture-proof layer, any material can be used without particular limitation as long as it does not allow the moisture of the base material to move to the wound support, and a synthetic resin film such as polyester may be used. , Adhesive workability with paper,
A metal foil is preferable in terms of barrier properties against humidity and other chemical substances, and an aluminum foil is most preferable in terms of inexpensiveness. The thickness is not particularly limited as long as it has a moisture-proof effect, but is preferably from 10 μm to 3 mm. If it is less than 10 μm, there is a risk that wrinkles may be formed during the sticking process and a hole may be formed. If the thickness is more than 3 mm, deformation does not work, and the adaptation to the irregularities of the fiber of the paper tends to be unfavorable. .

The diameter, length, and base material thickness of the core are not particularly limited. What is necessary is just to use what has the required intensity | strength and the diameter matched with the winding device. The core 3 thus obtained is

As described above, in consideration of the economic efficiency and strength of the core, it is preferable to use a non-exposed kraft pulp to make the core relatively low in moisture. On the other hand, both sides of the base paper are coated with a polyolefin resin. Since the water content of the base paper of the photographic support is known to have an effect of promoting the hardening of the photographic emulsion, a relatively high water content of 6.5 to 9.5% is required. Therefore, a photographic support reel is produced in which a higher moisture photographic support is wound on a lower moisture core, and when the lower winding portion is stored for a long period of time, the lower core of the core is wound. It is strongly influenced by the moisture value. as a result,
Moisture of the photographic support near the core escapes to the core side, resulting in a photographic paper in which the hardening does not work. Conversely, when the water content of the core is high, the water value of the photographic support in the lower part of the winding is also higher than the initial set value, and the fog component also moves with it, causing fog. Cause.

However, since the core 3 of the present invention has the moisture-proof layer 2 near the outermost layer of the base material 1 so that the photographic support is not affected by environmental conditions, Even if the environmental conditions change and the moisture content of the base material changes, the effect does not occur on the photographic support, and like the expensive epoxidized roll, the photographic support near the winding core also Can be offered to the product.

Example 1 As a base material for a cylindrical core, paper made of hardwood unexposed bleached kraft pulp was wound tightly in the form of wet paper and dried to produce a paper core with an inner diameter of 180 mm (thickness 10 mm). An aluminum foil (100 μm) as a moisture-proof material was adhered and laminated on the outside, and a non-exposed paper made of kraft pulp was adhered thereon and wound into a thickness of 3 mm to form a core. Poval was used for adhesion between the moisture-proof layer and the paper. Using this core, a photographic support is wound thereon to form a winding, and the winding is placed for 3 months in a state where the base material has the moisture value shown in Table 1, and then the winding is performed. An emulsion layer was provided on the obtained photographic support, and the degree of fogging and the ability to form an emulsion film were examined. In addition, the manufacturing cost and the mechanical strength during use were also evaluated. The photographic support used for winding was a LD containing 12% of titanium oxide on the side on which a photographic emulsion was provided on a base paper having a thickness of 127 μm and a moisture of 8.5%.
PE was 32 μm, and the other side was coated with polyethylene mixed at a ratio of HDPE / LDPE = 80/20 at 26 μm.

As is evident from Table 1 above, the core for a photographic support in the present invention was obtained irrespective of the moisture value of the base material.
It can be seen that this is an excellent core that does not adversely affect the wound photographic support. The thickness of the moisture-proof layer is 10
It is understood that the thickness is preferably from μm to 3 mm. Aluminum is the best material used for the moisture barrier, and polyethylene (P
In the case of E), the moisture-proof effect is weak, and selection of the material should be considered. The position of the moisture-proof layer is preferably near the outermost layer of the base material. It is not preferable to be on the core side of the base material because the amount of base material on the side in contact with the support increases. The material of the base material is preferably unbleached hardwood kraft pulp (LUKP) in terms of strength and inexpensiveness. Even if it has impurities, it is cut off by the moisture-proof layer and the influence on photographic properties such as fog is prevented. .

Since the core of the present invention has a moisture-proof layer around the base material, it does not adversely affect the wound support under any environmental conditions. It is particularly useful as a core for a photographic support, and the photographic printing paper support winding using the same supports the quality of the lower wrapping part against environmental changes during long-distance transportation. Quality can be maintained as well.
