ード発送方法および写真入りカード発送システムを提供
する。 【解決手段】 印刷事業者のコンピュータシステム５と
コンピュータネットワーク４で接続された通信端末装置
１〜３により印刷事業者へ写真入り葉書の作成および配
送を発注して写真入り葉書の発送を行うもので、カード
に印刷される画像と宛先および差出人を含むテキストデ
ータとを通信端末装置１〜３よりコンピュータネットワ
ーク４へ送信して印刷事業者へ写真入り葉書の作成およ
び配送を発注する。印刷事業者は、コンピュータネット
ワーク４を介して送られてきた画像およびテキストデー
タをコンピュータシステム５で受信して写真入り葉書の
作成および配送を受注した後、受信した画像と所定のテ
キストデータとを葉書に印刷して写真入り葉書ＣＤを作
成する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、写真が印刷された葉
書などのカードを作成して配送するための方法とシステ
ムとに関し、特に、この発明は、印刷事業者のコンピュ
ータシステムとコンピュータネットワークで接続された
通信端末装置により前記印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの
作成および配送を発注して写真入りカードの発送行う写
真入りカード発送方法および写真入りカード発送システ
ムに関する。

【従来の技術】殆どの観光地では、名所、旧跡などの写
真が印刷された絵葉書が販売されている。観光地を訪れ
た観光客は、そこで購入した絵葉書を家族や知人などへ
送るために、絵葉書にメッセージを書き込んだ上で切手
を貼り、それを現地の郵便局や郵便ポストへ投函してい
る。投函された絵葉書は、その地域の本局と呼ばれる郵
便局に集められた後、宛先の郵便局へ配送される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、絵葉書
の発送は、郵便施設がある観光地に限って行うことが可
能であり、郵便施設が見つからないとき、切手を購入す
ることも、絵葉書を送ることもできない。また、絵葉書
の宛先が発信地から離れている場合や発信地が僻地であ
るような場合、絵葉書の投函から配達に至るまでに多く
の日数を要する。さらに、購入した既存の印刷済の絵葉
書では、差出人が写真に写っていないから、現地での臨
場感を伝えることができず、受取人の興味を増すことは
困難である。近年、デジタルカメラ付きの携帯電話が普
及しつつあり、この種の携帯電話を用いて現地から画像
を伝送することも可能になっているが、この方法だと、
受信する側も同等またはそれ以上の装置や設備を備えて
いることが必要であり、伝送相手が限られるという問題
がある。
【０００４】ところで、写真入り葉書を独自で製作する
には、デジタルカメラなどを用いて撮影し、その画像を
パーソナルコンピュータに取り込み、その取り込んだ画
像を基に写真入り葉書を編集して印刷するという方法が
一般的である。ところが、この方法は、写真入り葉書の
作成に手数がかかり、パーソナルコンピュータの操作や
画像処理に不慣れな者は写真入り葉書の製作が困難であ
る。
【０００５】この発明は、旅先や出先であっても、相手
を問わず、自分が写った写真が印刷された葉書のような
カードを作成して即座に配送し得る写真入りカード発送
方法および写真入りカード発送システムを提供すること
を目的とする。また、この発明が他に目的とするところ
は、パーソナルコンピュータの操作や画像処理に不慣れ
な者であっても、写真入りカードの製作並びに配送を可
能とした写真入りカード発送方法および写真入りカード
発送システムを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、印刷事業者
のコンピュータシステムとコンピュータネットワークで
接続された通信端末装置により前記印刷事業者へ写真入
りカードの作成および配送を発注して写真入りカードの
発送を行う方法であり、カードに印刷される画像と宛先
および差出人を含むテキストデータとを通信端末装置よ
りコンピュータネットワークへ送信して印刷事業者へ写
真入りカードの作成および配送を発注するようにする。
前記印刷事業者は、コンピュータネットワークを介して
送られてきた画像およびテキストデータをコンピュータ
システムで受信して写真入りカードの作成および配送を
受注した後、受信した画像と所定のテキストデータとを
カードに印刷して写真入りカードを作成しかつ配送す
る。
【０００７】ここで、「印刷事業者」は、印刷を事業の
ひとつとする事業者のことであり、民間の事業者に限ら
ず、郵便局のような官営の事業者も含む。「写真入りカ
ード」は、典型的には、写真の入った葉書を指すが、例
えば、花などの品物に添えられる写真入りのメッセージ
カードなども含む。また、ここでいう「カード」とは、
一般的には、葉書やメッセージカードのように、やや厚
手の紙製シートを指すが、メッセージの伝達を目的とす
るものであれば、材料、大きさ、形状、肉厚などは問わ
ない。「カードの宛先および差出人を含むテキストデー
タ」とは、テキストデータの中に少なくとも宛先と差出
人とを含むことを意味し、差し出す相手へのメッセージ
もテキストデータに含まれる。
【０００８】この発明によれば、画像と宛先および差出
人を含むテキストデータとを通信端末装置よりコンピュ
ータネットワークへ送信して印刷事業者に写真入りカー
ドの作成および配送を発注すれば、印刷事業者は、受信
した画像と所定のテキストデータをカードに印刷して写
真入りカードを作成し、これを配送する。従って、たと
え旅先や出先であっても、自分の写真が印刷された葉書
などの写真入りカードを作成でき、しかも、郵便施設を
捜さなくても、写真入りカードを家族や知人などへ短い
時間で随時、送ることができる。また、同じ内容のカー
ドを別々の人へ一斉に発送することも可能である。
【０００９】この発明の一実施態様においては、前記写
真入りカードは写真入り葉書である。写真入り葉書で
は、写真やメッセージは葉書の裏面に、宛先や差出人は
葉書の表面に、それぞれ印刷されることになる。もっと
も、写真入りカードが、例えば、品物に添えられる写真
入りのメッセージカードのようなものであれば、宛先
（特に住所）は必ずしもそのカードに印刷する必要はな
い。
【００１０】この発明の写真入りカード発送方法が実施
された写真入りカード発送システムでは、前記通信端末
装置は、カードに印刷される画像を入力する画像入力手
段と、宛先および差出人を含むテキストデータを入力す
るデータ入力手段と、画像入力手段および文字入力手段
より入力された画像とテキストデータとをコンピュータ
ネットワークへ送信して印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの
作成および配送を発注する送信手段とを有する。一方、
前記印刷事業者のコンピュータは、コンピュータネット
ワークを介して送られてきた画像およびテキストデータ
を受信して写真入りカードの作成および配送を受注する
受信手段と、受信手段で受信した画像と所定のテキスト
データとをカードに印刷して写真入りカードを作成する
印刷手段とを備える。
【００１１】前記通信端末装置には種々の態様があり、
この発明の好ましい実施態様においては、通信端末装置
として、デジタルカメラが一体に組み込まれた携帯電話
機が用いられる。この携帯電話機では、カードに印刷さ
れる画像を画像入力手段としてのデジタルカメラで撮影
して入力する。宛先および差出人を含むテキストデータ
はデータ入力手段としてのテンキーなどで入力する。入
力された画像やテキストデータはコンピュータネットワ
ークへ送信され、印刷事業者に写真入りカードの作成お
よび配送が発注される。
【００１２】この実施態様によれば、どのような場所で
も撮像が可能であり、その撮影場所から即座に、得られ
た画像が印刷された葉書などのカードの作成と配達とを
発注でき、家族や知人などへ現地の臨場感を伝えること
ができる。
【００１３】この発明の他の実施態様においては、前記
通信端末装置として、画像入力が可能なパーソルコンピ
ュータが用いられる。この実施態様では、カードに印刷
される画像はデジタルカメラなどで撮影してパーソナル
コンピュータに取り込む。宛先および差出人を含むテキ
ストデータはデータ入力手段としてのキーボードで入力
する。入力された画像およびテキストデータはモデムよ
りコンピュータネットワークへ送信され、印刷事業者に
対して写真入りカードの作成および配送が発注される。
【００１４】この実施態様は、通信端末装置としてパー
ソルコンピュータを用いているので、撮影を行う場所と
写真入りカードの作成および配送を発注する場所とは別
である。撮影された画像はパーソナルコンピュータの設
置場所で入力が行われ、そこで写真入りカードの作成お
よび配達が発注される。
【００１５】この発明のさらに他の実施態様において
は、前記通信端末装置として、地上に設置可能な機体
に、被撮影者の画像を生成して処理するための画像処理
装置と、被撮影者へ照明を施すための照明装置と、前記
コンピュタネットワークに接続することが可能な通信装
置とが搭載されたものが用いられる。前記画像処理装置
は、被撮影者を撮像する撮像手段と、写真入りカードの
宛先および差出人を含むテキストデータを入力するため
のデータ入力手段と、画像およびテキストデータを表示
可能な表示手段とを含んでいる。
【００１６】この実施態様の通信端末装置は、観光地の
最寄り駅などの建造物の内部に設置される他、雨除け設
備があれば、屋外にも設置可能である。この実施態様の
通信端末装置では、照明装置による照明下で被撮影者が
撮像手段により撮影される。そして、データ入力手段に
より宛先および差出人を含むテキストデータが入力され
る。得られた画像や入力されたテキストデータは表示手
段に表示されるので、これを見て画像やテキストデータ
の適否を判断し得る。画像およびテキストデータは、通
信装置によりコンピュータネットワークへ送信され、印
刷事業者に対して写真入りカードの作成および配達が発
注される。
【００１７】この実施態様は、撮影手段や通信端末装置
を自らが用意する必要がなく、この点で上記した他の実
施例と差異がある。この実施態様では、通信端末装置の
設置場所で撮像を行い、その場所で即座に、得られた画
像が印刷された葉書などのカードの作成および配達を発
注できる。

【発明の実施の形態】図１は、この発明にかかる写真入
り葉書発送方法の概略を示しており、印刷事業者のコン
ピュータシステム５とコンピュータネットワーク４で接
続された通信端末装置１〜３のいずれかにより前記印刷
事業者へ写真入り葉書の作成および配送を発注して写真
入り葉書ＣＤの発送を行うものである。
【００１９】写真入り葉書の差出人（発注者）は、葉書
に印刷する画像、宛先の住所と氏名、差出人の住所と氏
名、およびメッセージを含むテキストデータを通信端末
装置１〜３のいずれかによりコンピュータネットワーク
４へ送信して、印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの作成およ
び配送を発注する。
【００２０】第１の通信端末装置１は、デジタルカメラ
１１が一体に組み込まれた携帯電話機１０であり、デジ
タルカメラ１１で人物や風景などを撮影してカードに印
刷する画像を生成する。この携帯電話機１０は、電話番
号の他に、宛先の住所と氏名、差出人の住所と氏名、メ
ッセージなどを入力するためのテンキー１２、入力した
画像やデータを表示することが可能なディスプレイ１３
などを備える。
【００２１】第２の通信端末装置２はパーソナルコンピ
ュータ２０であり、このパーソナルコンピュータ２０に
デジタルカメラ２１などで撮影した画像を取り込む。宛
先の住所と氏名、差出人の住所と氏名、メッセージなど
のテキストデータはキーボード２２より入力される。入
力された画像やテキストデータは、内蔵するモデムより
コンピュータネットワーク４へ送信され、印刷事業者へ
写真入り葉書の作成および配送が発注される。
【００２２】第３の通信端末装置３は、写真入り葉書の
作成および配送を印刷事業者へ発注するための専用機３
０であり、地上に設置可能な機体に、被撮影者の画像を
生成して処理するための画像処理装置３１と、被撮影者
へ照明を施すための２本の蛍光灯３２と、コンピュタネ
ットワーク４に接続することが可能な通信装置３３とが
搭載されている。前記画像処理装置３１は、被撮影者を
撮像するカメラ３４と、宛先の住所と氏名、差出人の住
所と氏名、およびメッセージを含むテキストデータを入
力するためのキーパネル３５と、入力した画像が表示さ
れる第１のディスプレイ３６ａと、入力したテキストデ
ータが表示される第２のディスプレイ３６ｂとを含んで
いる。
【００２３】まず、蛍光灯３２による照明下で被撮影者
をカメラ３４で撮影した後、キーパネル３５を操作して
宛先の住所と氏名、差出人の住所と氏名、メッセージな
どを入力する。得られた画像は第１のディスプレイ３６
ａに、入力されたテキストデータは第２のディスプレイ
３６ｂに、それぞれ表示される。画像およびテキストデ
ータは、通信装置３３によりコンピュータネットワーク
４へ送信され、印刷事業者に対して写真入り葉書の作成
および配送が発注される。
【００２４】印刷事業者は、コンピュータネットワーク
４を介して送られてきた画像およびテキストデータをコ
ンピュータシステム５のサーバ５０で受信して写真入り
葉書の作成および配送を受注した後、プリンタ５１によ
り葉書の裏面に画像およびメッセージを、表面に宛先お
よび差出人の住所と氏名を、それぞれ印刷して写真入り
葉書ＣＤを作成する。
【００２５】この写真入り葉書ＣＤに切手が貼付された
後、印刷事業者は、これを印刷事業者の所在地である郵
便局６ａ（例えば、東京の中央郵便局）まで運んで投函
する。投函された写真入り葉書ＣＤは、その郵便局６ａ
から宛先の地方郵便局６ｂへ配送された後、その郵便局
６ｂから宛先人７に届けられる。なお、この実施例で
は、民間の印刷事業者が写真入り葉書ＣＤの作成を行っ
ているが、特定の郵便局６ａまたは宛先の地方郵便局６
ｂで写真入り葉書ＣＤを作成するようにしてもよい。
【００２６】図２は、この発明の一実施例である写真入
り葉書発送システムの構成を示す。図示例の写真入り葉
書発送システムは、インターネット４０に通信回線を介
して複数のサーバ７が接続されるともに、各サーバ７
に、複数台の通信端末装置１〜３が通信回線を介して接
続されている。また、インターネット４０には、印刷事
業者のコンピュータシステム５を構成するサーバ５０が
接続され、このサーバ５０にプリンタ５１が接続されて
いる。
【００２７】印刷事業者のサーバ５０は記憶装置５２を
含んでおり、この記憶装置５２に、各通信端末装置１〜
３からの多数個の受注データと写真入り葉書作成用プロ
グラムとが記憶されている。各受注データは、画像およ
びテキストデータを含むものである。写真入り葉書作成
用プログラムは、第１、第２の各通信端末装置１，２に
対して提供されるものであり、第３の通信端末装置３は
この種のプログラムを内部の記憶装置に記憶している。
【００２８】図３は、第１の通信端末装置１を用いて写
真入り葉書の作成および配送を印刷事業者へ発注する際
の動作の流れを示す。なお図中、「ＳＴ」はステップの
略である。同図のＳＴ１において、ディスプレイ１３に
表示されたメニューから葉書作成モードが選択される
と、インターネット４０への接続が行われ、印刷事業者
のサーバ５０より写真入り葉書作成用プログラムが通信
端末装置１に読み込まれた後、ディスプレイ１３に撮影
を促す案内が表示される（ＳＴ２〜４）。
【００２９】次に、デジタルカメラ１１を自分に向ける
などして撮影を行うと、ＳＴ５の判定が「ＹＥＳ」とな
り、撮影された画像がディスプレイ１３に表示される
（ＳＴ６）。図４（１）は、このときのディスプレイ１
３の表示画面を示す。被撮影者は、この表示画像を見
て、その画像を採択するかどうかを判断する。もし気に
入らなければ、ＳＴ７の判定が「ＮＯ」となり、再度、
撮影を実施することになる。この操作は、気に入る画像
が得られるまで繰り返し行われる。
【００３０】所定のキーを押すなどして、表示された画
像が採択されると、ＳＴ７の判定が「ＹＥＳ」となり、
その画像がメモリに記憶された後、ディスプレイ１３
に、宛先の住所と氏名、さらには差出人の住所と氏名を
順次キー入力するように、案内表示が行われる（ＳＴ
８，９）。
【００３１】テンキー１２を操作して宛先の住所および
氏名と差出人の住所および氏名とが入力されると、ＳＴ
１０の判定が「ＹＥＳ」となり、ディスプレイ１３に
は、図４（２）に示すように、宛先と差出人とが示され
た葉書表面のサンプル画像が表示される（ＳＴ１１）。
この表示された画像を見て、適正かどうかを判断し、も
し適正でないと判断すれば、ＳＴ１２の判定が「ＮＯ」
となり、再度、キー入力を実施する。この操作は、適正
な入力が行われるまで繰り返し行われる。
【００３２】所定のキーを押すなどして、表示画像が採
択されると、ＳＴ１２の判定が「ＹＥＳ」となり、宛先
と差出人とのテキストデータがメモリに記憶された後、
ディスプレイ１３には、宛先人へのメッセージをキー入
力するように、案内表示が行われる（ＳＴ１３，１
４）。
【００３３】テンキー１２を操作してメッセージが入力
されると、ＳＴ１５の判定が「ＹＥＳ」となり、ディス
プレイ１３には、図４（３）に示すように、画像とメッ
セージとが表された葉書裏面のサンプル画像が表示され
る（ＳＴ１６）。この表示を見て、気に入ったかどうか
を判断し、もし気に入らなければ、ＳＴ１７の判定が
「ＮＯ」となり、再度、メッセージの再入力を実施す
る。
【００３４】最後に所定のキーを押すなどして、表示画
像が採択されると、ＳＴ１７の判定が「ＹＥＳ」とな
り、画像およびテキストデータは通信端末装置１よりコ
ンピュータネットワーク４へ送信され、印刷事業者へ写
真入り葉書の作成および配送が発注される。なお、第３
の通信端末装置３を用いた発注動作の流れも図３に示し
た流れと大差はなく、ここでは図示並びに説明を省略す
る。
【００３５】また、上記した実施例は、写真入り葉書Ｃ
Ｄについて発送システムを示すが、この発明は、写真入
り葉書に限らず、例えば図５に示すように、写真入りメ
ッセージカードＣＤ′を作成して花などの品物Ｘととも
に配送するようなシステムにも適用できる。図５のシス
テムでは、通信端末装置１〜３から印刷事業者へ発注が
あると、印刷事業者のコンピュータシステム５により写
真入りメッセージカードＣＤ′が作成された後、その写
真入りメッセージカードＣＤ′が品物Ｘを扱う事業者９
へ届けられる。そして、その事業者９は、写真入りメッ
セージカードＣＤ′を品物Ｘとともに宛先人７へ配送す
る。なお、品物Ｘは宛先人７が近くの指定店などへ取り
に行くようにしてもよい。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、たとえ旅先や出先で
あっても、自分の写真が印刷された葉書などの写真入り
カードを作成でき、しかも、郵便施設を捜さなくても、
送り先を問わず、写真入りカードを家族や知人などへ短
い時間で随時、送ることができる。また、カードの収集
コストなどのオペレーションコストの低減やサービスの
向上もはかることができるという効果が得られる。

Claims (6)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 印刷事業者のコンピュータシステムとコ
    ンピュータネットワークで接続された通信端末装置によ
    り前記印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの作成および配送を
    発注して写真入りカードの発送を行う方法であって、 カードに印刷される画像と宛先および差出人を含むテキ
    ストデータとを通信端末装置よりコンピュータネットワ
    ークへ送信して印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの作成およ
    び配送を発注し、 前記印刷事業者は、コンピュータネットワークを介して
    送られてきた画像およびテキストデータをコンピュータ
    システムで受信して写真入りカードの作成および配送を
    受注した後、受信した画像と所定のテキストデータとを
    カードに印刷して写真入りカードを作成しかつ配送する
    ことを特徴とする写真入りカード発送方法。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記写真入りカードは、写真入り葉書で
    あり、画像が葉書の裏面に、宛先が葉書の表面に、それ
    ぞれ印刷される請求項１に記載された写真入りカード発
    送方法。
  3. 【請求項３】 印刷事業者のコンピュータシステムとコ
    ンピュータネットワークで接続された通信端末装置によ
    り前記印刷事業者へ写真入りカードの作成および配送を
    発注して写真入りカードの発送を行うシステムであっ
    て、 前記通信端末装置は、カードに印刷される画像を入力す
    る画像入力手段と、宛先および差出人を含むテキストデ
    ータを入力するデータ入力手段と、画像入力手段および
    文字入力手段より入力された画像とテキストデータとを
    コンピュータネットワークへ送信して印刷事業者へ写真
    入りカードの作成および配送を発注する送信手段とを有
    し、 前記印刷事業者のコンピュータは、コンピュータネット
    ワークを介して送られてきた画像およびテキストデータ
    を受信して写真入りカードの作成および配送を受注する
    受信手段と、受信手段で受信した画像と所定のテキスト
    データとをカードに印刷して写真入りカードを作成する
    印刷手段とを備えてなる写真入りカード発送システム。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記通信端末装置は、デジタルカメラが
    一体に組み込まれた携帯電話機である請求項３に記載さ
    れた写真入りカード発送システム。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記通信端末装置は、画像入力が可能な
    パーソルコンピュータである請求項３に記載された写真
    入りカード発送システム。
  6. 【請求項６】 前記通信端末装置は、地上に設置可能な
    機体に、被撮影者の画像を生成して処理するための画像
    処理装置と、被撮影者へ照明を施すための照明装置と、
    前記コンピュタネットワークに接続することが可能な通
    信装置とが搭載されて成り、前記画像処理装置は、被撮
    影者を撮像する撮像手段と、宛先および差出人を含むテ
    キストデータを入力するためのデータ入力手段と、画像
    およびテキストデータを表示可能な表示手段とを含んで
    いる請求項３に記載された写真入りカード発送システ
    ム。
