乳化重合ポリマーを含有するコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物
技術分野
本発明は、直鎖ジメチルポリシロキサンモノマーの乳化重合から誘導される、
選ばれた乳化重合ポリマーを含有するコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物に関
する。
発明の背景
洗浄性界面活性剤とヘアコンデイショニング剤の種々の組フォ宇わせを含有す
るコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物が知られている。これらのシャンプー製
品は、典型的にはシリコーン、炭化水素油、脂肪エステル、又はこれらの組み合
せのようなコンデイショニング剤と組み合せてアニオン性の洗浄性界面活性剤を
含む。これらのシャンプーは、一つのヘアケア製品からヘアコンデイショニング
と毛髪洗浄性能の全てを簡便に得る手段として、消費者により一層一般的になっ
た。
コンデイショニング剤を含んだ多様なシャンプーが開示されてきたが、これら
は種々の理由から完全に満足なものではなかった。カチオン性のコンデイショニ
ング剤は、静電気を制御し、湿潤状態のもつれを改善し、使用者にシルクのよう
な湿潤毛髪感触を与えることができるためにヘアコンデイショニングの用途に非
常に望ましいものである。シャンプー中で生じた一つの問題は、良好な洗浄性の
アニオン性界面活性剤と、歴史的にコンデイショニング剤として使用されてきた
多くの慣用のカチオン性の薬剤との間の併用性の問題に関する。代わりの界面活
性剤を使用し、カチオン性コンデイショニング剤を改良することによって、この
負の相互作用を少なくする努力がなされてきた。ヘアリンス製品中で良好な総合
的コンデイショニングを与えるカチオン性界面活性剤は、一般的に、アニオン性
洗浄性界面活性剤とコンプレックスを形成し、シャンプーの環境中で貧弱なコン
デイショニング性しか与えないという傾向がある。特に、溶解性のイオン性コン
プレックスを形成する溶解性カチオン性界面活性剤を使用すると、毛髪に良好に
は付着しない。非溶解性のイオン性コンプレックスを形成する溶解性のカチオン
性界面活性剤は、毛髪に付着するが良好なヘアコンデイショニング効果を発揮せ
ず、毛髪に汚れた被覆された感触を引き起こす傾向がある。非溶解性カチオン性
界面活性剤、例えばトリセチルメチルアンモニウムクロライドを使用すると、優
れた静電気防止性が得られるが、その他の点で良好な総合的なコンデイショニン
グ性は得られない。多くのカチオン性ポリマーは毛髪上に蓄積し、望ましくない「
汚れた」被覆された感触となる。従って、カチオン性ポリマーは、普通はこの問
題を最小にするために限られた量で使用することが望ましい。しかしこれは得ら
れる総合的なコンデイショニング効果が限られることとなる。これに加えて、カ
チオン性コンデイショニング剤は、シャンプー中に一つの成分として与えられた
時に、特に「柔軟さ」の点で、最適の総合的コンデイショニング効果を与えない。
強化された柔軟性を与える材料は、非イオン性シリコーンである。シャンプー
組成物中のシリコーンは、多数の異なった出版物に開示されてきた。そのような
出版物には、1958年3月11日に発行されたGreenの米国特許2,826,551号、1976年
6月22日に発行されたDrakoffの米国特許3,964,500号、1982年12月21日に発行さ
れたPaderの米国特許4,364,837号、及び1960年9月28日に発行されたWoolstonの
英国特許849,433号が含まれる。これらの特許はシリコーンを含有する組成物を
開示しているが、これらはまた、シリコーンが製品中で十分に分散し懸濁した状
態を維持することが困難であったので、総合的に満足な製品を提供していなかっ
た。最近、安定で不溶性のシリコーン含有ヘアコンデイショニングシャンプーが
、1988年3月3日に発行されたGroteとRussellの米国特許4,741,855号、1988年1
1月29日に発行されたBolichとWilliamsの米国特許4,788,066号に開示された。こ
れらのシャンプー組成物は、多くの種類の毛髪のタイプに対して、アニオン性の
洗浄性界面活性剤と共にであってさえも、優れた洗浄性能を維持し、毛髪に対し
て優れた総合的なコンデイショニング効果を与えることが出来る。
更に最近では、改良されたコンデイショニングシャンプーが、1990年12月5
日に出願され現在放棄されたRobrt L.Wellsの米国出願07/622,699号、及び1991
年10月21日に出願されたその継続出願07/778,765号の中で提供された。ここでは
シャンプーは、アニオン性界面活性剤、分散した不溶性シリコーン、及び相対的
に低いイオン強度のカチオン性ポリマー(約0.4meq./gm以上)が開示された
。これらの組成物は、多くの種類の毛髪のタイプに対して優れた毛髪の洗浄コン
デイショニング性を与え、特に染色処理、漂白、パーマネント等によってダメー
ジを受けた毛髪に対して良好なコンデイショニング性を与える。
1981年6月16日公開のHirotaら(花王石鹸)の日本公開特許56-72095号は又、カ
チオン性ポリマーとシリコーンコンデイショニング剤を含むシャンプーを開示し
ている。カチオン性の薬剤とシリコーンを持つシャンプーに関するまだその他の
公開特許には、1991年2月20日公開のHartnettらの欧州特許公開0413417号を含
む。
シャンプー組成物にヘアコンデイショニング効果を与えるその他の試みは、接
触して油性である材料を使用することであった。これらの材料は、毛髪に良好な
光沢と輝きを与える。油性材料は、又シャンプー配合中でカチオン性材料と組み
合せられた。1979年10月6日公開のN.Uchino(ライオン油脂)の日本特許出願昭和
53-35902号(昭和54-129135)は、カチオン性ポリマー、脂肪酸塩、及び少なくと
も10%の油性成分を含む、シャンプーの前後で使用するためのヘアトリートメ
ント組成物を開示している。適切な油性成分は、炭化水素、高級アルコール、脂
肪酸エステル、グリセライド、及び脂肪酸である。1987年12月25日出願、1989年
7月4日公開のHorieらの日本特許出願昭和62-327266号、公開番号平1-168612は
、カチオン性界面活性剤及び/又はカチオン性ポリマー、アニオン性界面活性剤
、及び式RCOOR’(ここで、RとR’は直鎖又は分岐鎖のアルキル基)の特定
のエステルを含む洗浄組成物を開示している。
洗浄能力とヘアコンデイショニング性の最適な組合わせを与えるこれらの試み
にもかかわらず、更に改良されたヘアコンデイショニングシャンプーを提供する
ことが望まれている。例えば、シリコーンとカチオン性材料を含むシャンプーで
処理した毛髪の、総合的なコンデイショニング性の改良、及び特に輝きと光沢、
湿潤時と乾燥時の櫛通り、及び乾燥毛髪の感触の改良が望まれている。カチオン
性材料と組み合せた油性物質を含むシャンプーについては、総合的なコンデイシ
ョニング性、特に湿潤時の櫛通りともつれ解消、乾燥時の櫛通り、及び乾燥毛髪
の感触の改良が望まれている。しかし、単に一方の又は両方の成分の濃度を増加
させることは、例えばべとべとした毛髪感触と嵩高さの喪失のような負の結果と
なる。これらの欠点に悩まされることのない良好なコンデイショニングが望まれ
ている。
これを行う一つの試みが、1995年4月13日に発行されたMurrayらのWO95/09599
に開示されており、これを引用して本文に組み込む。この特許は、溶解性シリコ
ーンオイル、特にジメチコノールに付着したカチオン性ポリマーを含むシャンプ
ー組成物を開示している。これらの系は、例えばシリコーンが乳化重合され、乳
化重合ポリマーの平均粒子径が2μm以下、好ましくは1μm以下である時に、
毛髪の上にコンデイショニング剤を均一に付着させるという点で最も効果的であ
る。
水性エマルジョンの形態で、シリコーンオイルのコンデイショニングシャンプ
ー組成物への添加はこの技術では知られている。普通のシリコーンエマルジョン
プロセスは、乳化重合はもちろんシリコーンオイルの機械的な剪断作用によって
も形成される。二つの方法は、エマルジョン中のシリコーンオイルの粒子径が約
2μm以下、好ましくは約1μm以下、更に好ましくは約0.5μm以下、なお
更に好ましくは約0.3μm以下、なお更に好ましくは約0.15μm以下、最
も好ましくは約0.1μm以下である乳化系を与える。シリコーンで乳化された
油の粒子径は、典型的には約0.01μm以上である。
しかし、乳化重合したシリコーンエマルジョンは、高粘性流体とマイクロエマ
ルジョンの製造において、今や本質的により良好な粒径コントロールを与えるよ
うになった。60,000センチストークス以上の粘度のシリコーンのサブミク
ロンの機械的な乳化は、作るのが非常に困難である。乳化重合は60,000セ
ンチストークス以上の粘度の製造を一層容易にするので、産業としてはこのよう
な高粘度のサブミクロンのシリコーンエマルジョンの製造については、乳化重合
の使用に移行していった。
環状シリコーンを使用して得られる乳化重合したシリコーンエマルジョンが、
コンデイショニングシャンプー組成物の泡にネガテイブに影響するということが
見出された。しかし、直鎖のジメチルポリシロキサンの重合から誘導されるシリ
コーンエマルジョンは、泡の抑制が最も少なくてコンデイショニングシャンプー
組成物に添加することができる。一つの仮説は、残留する環状シリコーンが乳化
相から界面活性剤の相に濾され、抑泡剤又は汚れ負荷として作用し、それによっ
て発泡性能が低下するということである。
ポリマーが式:HO-[Si(R1R2)-O-]n-H、ここでnは約10以上、の直
鎖ジメチルシロキサンモノマーの重合から誘導されるポリマーである乳化重合シ
リコーンがコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物の泡に対してネガテイブな影響
を示さないこともまた見出された。これは、反応が非常に完全であること及び出
発物質のジメチコノールが界面活性剤相への最小の移行を防ぐに十分な分子量で
あることのために達成される。
従って、本発明の目的は改良されたコンデイショニング性能を持ち毛髪又は皮
膚へ使用するコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物を提供することであり、更に
毛髪又は皮膚上に良好な均一なコンデイショニング剤が付着するそのような組成
物を提供することであり、更に直鎖ジメチルポリシロキサンモノマーの乳化重合
から得られるジメチルポリシロキサンエマルジョンを使用するそのような組成物
を提供することである。
発明の要約
本発明は、以下のものを含むヘアコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物に関す
る:
(A)約5重量%から約50重量%の、アニオン性界面活性剤、双イオン性界面
活性剤、両性界面活性剤及びこれらの組合わせからなるグループから選ばれ、該
双イオン性又は両性界面活性剤が組成物のpHで陰イオン性である付加した基を
有するものであるアニオン性界面活性剤成分;
(B)約0.025重量%から約3重量%の、カチオン性電荷密度が約0.2me
q/gから約5meq/gで、平均分子量が約5,000から約10,000,000で
ある有機カチオン性付着性ポリマー;
(c)約0.005重量%から約10重量%の、次の式
HO-[Si(R1R2)-O-]n-H
(ここでnは約10から約100である)で表わされる直鎖ジメチルポリシロキ
サンモノマーの重合により得られるポリマーである、乳化重合で得られたシリコ
ーン;及び
(D)約20重量%から約94重量%の水。
発明の詳細な記載
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、ここに記載する本発明の要素と限定を、なおそ
の上にここに記載する付加的な又は任意の成分、要素、又は限定を含み(compris
e)、これらからなり(consist of)、又はこれらから実質的になる(consist essen
tially of)ことが出来る。
全てのパーセント、部、及び比率は、それ以外の指定がない場合は、本発明の
シャンプー組成物の全重量に基づく。リストされた成分に関係する全ての重量は
、有効分濃度に基づき、従ってそれ以外の指示が無い限りは、担体又は商業的に
利用できる材料に含まれる副生物を含まない。
ここで使用するように、用語「溶解性」は、25℃の水でその材料の0.1重量
%の濃度で裸眼で実質的に澄明な溶液を形成するように、水に十分に溶解性であ
る材料である。逆に、用語「非溶解性」は、25℃の水で当該他の材料の0.1重
量%の濃度で裸眼で実質的に澄明な溶液を形成するように、水に十分に溶解性で
ないその他の全ての材料である。
ここで使用するように、用語「非揮発性」は、環境条件下でほとんど又は意味の
ある蒸気圧を有しない材料である。そのような条件下での蒸気圧は、25℃で約
0.2mmHg又はそれ以下、好ましくは25℃で約0.1mmHg又はそれ以
下である。
その必須の及びいくらかの任意の成分を含む本発明のシャンプー組成物は、以
下に詳細に記載される。
アニオン性洗浄性界面活性成分
本発明シャンプー組成物は、組成物に洗浄力を与えるためにアニオン性の洗浄
性界面活性剤成分を含む。アニオン性の洗浄性界面活性剤成分は、アニオン性洗
浄性界面活性剤、組成物のpHで陰イオン性である付加したグループを有する双
イオン性又は両性洗浄性界面活性剤、又はこれらの組合わせを含み、好ましくは
アニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤である。このような界面活性剤は、物理的又は化学
的にここで記載する必須成分と併用性がなければならず、そうでなければ製品の
安定性、美観、又は性能を不当に損なうべきではない。
ここでシャンプー組成物に使用するための適切な洗浄性界面活性剤成分は、ヘ
アケア又はその他のパーソナルケア洗浄組成物で使用が知られているものを含む
。シャンプー組成物中のアニオン性界面活性剤成分の濃度は、所望の洗浄力を与
えるに十分であるべきであり、一般的に組成物の重量の約5%から約50%、好
ましくは約8%から約30%、更に好ましくは約10%から約25%、なお更に
好ましくは約12%から約18%の範囲である。
シャンプー組成物への使用に適したアニオン性界面活性剤は、アルキル及びア
ルキルエーテルサルフェートである。これらの物質はそれぞれ式ROSO3M及
びRO(C2H4O)XSO3Mであり、ここでRは炭素数約8から約18のアルキ
ル又はアルケニル基、xは1から10の値を有する整数、そしてMはアンモニウ
ム、トリエタノールアミンのようなアルカノールアミン、ナトリウム、カリウム
のような1価金属カチオン、及びマグネシウム、カルシウムのような多価金属カ
チオンなどようなのカチオンである。好ましくは、Mはアニオン界面活性剤が水
溶性であるように選ばれるべきである。カチオンMはアニオン性洗浄性界面活性
剤が水溶性である様に選ばれるべきである。界面活性剤の溶解度は、選ばれる特
定のアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤とカチオンに依存する。
好ましくはRは、アルキル及びアルキルエーテルサルフェートの両方において
、約8から約18の炭素原子、更に好ましくは約10から約16の炭素原子、な
お
更に好ましくは約12から約14の炭素原子を有する。アルキルエーテルサルフ
ェートは、典型的にはエチレンオキサイドと炭素数約8から約24の1価アルコ
ールの縮合物として得られる。アルコールは、合成アルコールであることも出来
、又は例えば油脂、例えば椰子油、パーム核油、牛脂などの油脂から誘導する事
ができる。ここではラウリルアルコール及び椰子油又はパーム核油から得られる
直鎖アルコールが好ましい。このようなアルコールが、エチレンオキサイドとモ
ル比で0から約10の間、好ましくは約2から約5の間、更に好ましくは約3で
反応し、例えばアルコール1モル当たり平均3モルのエチレンオキサイドを有す
る分子種の得られた混合物が硫酸化され、中和される。
本発明のシャンプー組成物に使用できるアルキルエーテルサルフェートの非限
定的な例は、ヤシアルキルトリエチレングリコールエーテルサルフェート、牛脂
アルキルトリエチレングリコールエーテルサルフェート、及び牛脂アルキルヘキ
サオキシエチレンサルフェートのナトリウム及びアンモニウム塩である。高度に
好ましいアルキルエーテルサルフェートは、個別の化合物の混合物を含むもので
あり、このような混合物中の化合物は、約10から16炭素原子の平均アルキル
鎖長とエチレンオキサイドが1から約4モルの平均エトキシル化度を有する。
その他の適当なアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤は、一般式[R1−SO3−M]の
有機硫酸反応物の水溶性塩である。ここでR1は、直鎖又は分岐鎖の炭素原子数
が約8から約24、好ましくは約10から約18の直鎖又は分岐鎖の飽和脂肪族
炭化水素基であり、Mは既に述べたカチオンである。このような洗浄性界面活性
剤の非限定的な例は、イソ、ネオ、及びn−パラフィンを含み、かつ炭素原子数
が約8から約24、好ましくは約12から約18のメタン系列の炭化水素と、漂
白及び加水分解を含む公知のスルホネーション法により得られる硫酸化剤、例え
ばSO3、H2SO4との有機硫酸反応生成物の塩である。好ましくは硫酸化され
たC10−C18のn−パラフィンのアルカリ金属又はアンモニウムである。
まだその他の適当な界面活性剤は、例えば椰子油又はパーム核油から得られる
脂肪酸をイセチオン酸でエステル化し、水酸化ナトリウムで中和した反応生成物
;例えば脂肪酸が椰子油、パーム核油から得られるメチルタウリドの脂肪酸ア
ミドのナトリウム又はカリウム塩である。その他の類似のアニオン性界面活性剤
は、米国特許2,486,921、2,486,922、及び2,396,278号に記載されている。これ
らの全体をここに引用して本文の一部とする。
シャンプー組成物の使用に適したその他のアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤はコハ
ク酸塩であり、例えばN−オクタデシルスルフォコハク酸二ナトリウム;ラウリ
ルスルフォコハク酸二ナトリウム;ラウリルスルフォコハク酸二アンモニウム;
N−(1,2−ジカルボキシエチル)−N−オクタデシルスルフォコハク酸四ナトリ
ウム;スルフォコハク酸ナトリウムジアミルエステル;スルフォコハク酸ナトリ
ウムジヘキシルエステル;及びスルフォコハク酸ナトリウムジオクチルエステル
が含まれる。
その他のアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤は、アミノ酸から誘導されるものである
。このような界面活性剤の非限定的な例には、N−アシル−L−グルタメート、
N−アシル−N−メチル−β−アラネート、N−アシルサルコシネート及びこれ
らの塩を含む。
まだその他の有用な界面活性剤は、タウリンから誘導されたものであり、2−
アミノエタンスルフォン酸として知られている。このような酸の例は、N−アシ
ル−N−メチルタウレートである。
その他の適当なアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤には、炭素原子数約10から約2
4のオレフィンスルフォネートを含む。「オレフィンスルフォネート」の用語は、
ここでは複合しない三酸化硫黄によりアルファオレフィンをスルフォン化し、反
応中に生成したいかなるサルフォンも加水分解して対応するヒドロキシ−アルカ
ンスルフォネートを与えるような条件でこの酸の反応混合物を中和することによ
って製造できる化合物を意味する。三酸化硫黄は液状又はガス状であることがで
き、通常は、しかし必ずしも必要ではないが、液の形態で使用する時は、不活性
ガス例えば液状SO2、塩素化炭化水素等によって希釈され、ガスの形態で使用
する時は、空気、窒素、ガス状SO2等によって希釈される。
オレフィンスルフォネートが作られるα−オレフィンは、炭素原子数約12か
ら約24の、好ましくは炭素原子数約12から約16のモノオレフィンである。
好ましくはそれらは直鎖オレフィンである。
真のアルケンスルフォネート及び一定割合のヒドロキシアルカンスルフォネー
トに加えて、オレフィンスルフォネート類は、反応条件、反応物の比率、出発オ
レフィンの性質、及びオレフィン原料中の不純物、及びスルフォン化工程中の副
反応に依存して、例えばアルケンジスルフォネートのような少量の他の物質を含
むことができる。このとうなαオレフィンスルフォネート混合物の非限定的な例
は、米国特許3,332,880号に記載されており、その全体をここに引用して本文に
組み込む。
シャンプー組成物への使用に適したその他のクラスのアニオン性洗浄性界面活
性剤はβ−アルコキシアルカンスルフォネートである。これらの化合物は次の式
を有する:
ここで、R1は炭素原子数約6から約20の直鎖アルキル基であり、R2は炭素原
子数約1から約3の低級アルキル基、好ましくは炭素数1であり、Mは前述の水
溶性カチオンである。
シャンプー組成物の使用に適した好ましいアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤は、ア
ンモニウムラウリルサルフェート、アンモニウムラウレスサルフェート、トリエ
チルアミンラウリルサルフェート、トリエチルアミンラウレスサルフェート、ト
リエタノールアミンラウリルサルフェート、トリエタノールアミンラウレスサル
フェート、モノエタノールアミンラウリルサルフェート、モノエタノールアミン
ラウレスサルフェート、ジエタノールアミンラウリルサルフェート、ジエタノー
ルアミンラウレスサルフェート、ラウリルモノグリセリドナトリウムサルフェー
ト、ナトリウムラウリルサルフェート、ナトリウムラウレスサルフェート、カリ
ウムラウリルサルフェート、カリウムラウレスサルフェート、ナトリウムラウリ
ルサルコシネート、ナトリウムラウロイルサルコシネート、ラウリルサルコシン
、ココイルサルコシン、アンモニウムココイルサルフェート、アンモニウムラウ
ロ
イルサルフェート、ナトリウムココイルサルフェート、ナトリウムラウロイルサ
ルフェート、カリウムココイルサルフェート、カリウムラウリルサルフェート、
トリエタノールアミンラウリルサルフェート、モノエタノールアミンココイルサ
ルフェート、モノエタノールアミンラウリルサルフェート、トリデシルベンゼン
スルフォン酸ナトリウム、ドデシルベンゼンスルフォン酸ナトリウム、及びこれ
らの組み合せを含む。
ここでシャンプー組成物の使用に適した双イオン性又は両性洗浄性界面活性剤
には、ヘアケア又はその他のパーソナルケア洗浄組成物への使用の知られた、シ
ャンプー組成物のpHで陰イオン性であるグループを有するものを含む。このよ
うな両性洗浄性界面活性剤の濃度は、好ましくは組成物の重量の約0.5%から
約20%、好ましくは約1%から約10%の範囲である。双イオン性又は両性界
面活性剤の非限定的な例は、米国特許5,104,646号(Bolich Jr.ら)、米国特許5
,106,609号(Bolich Jr.ら)に記載されており、ここに引用して本文に組み込
む。
ここでシャンプー組成物の使用に適した両性洗浄性界面活性剤は、この分野で
良く知られており、脂肪族二級及び三級アミンの誘導体として広く記述される界
面活性剤が含まれる。ここで、この脂肪族基は直鎖又は分岐鎖で、脂肪族置換基
の1つは、約8から約18の炭素原子を含み、1つはアニオン性の水溶性化基、
例えばカルボキシ、スルホネート、サルフェート、ホスフェート又はホスホネー
トを含む。
シャンプー組成物の使用に適した双イオン性洗浄性界面活性剤は、この分野で
良く知られており、脂肪族四級アンモニウム、ホスホニウム及びスルホニウム化
合物の誘導体として広く記述される界面活性剤が含まれる。ここで、この脂肪族
基は直鎖又は分岐鎖であり、ここで脂肪族置換基の1つは約8から約18の炭素
原子を含み、1つはアニオン性基、例えばカルボキシ、スルホネート、サルフェ
ート、ホスフェート又はホスホネートを含む。ベタインのような双イオン性活性
剤が好ましい。
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、既に述べたアニオン性洗浄性界面活性剤に組み
合せた使用として更に追加の界面活性剤を含んでもよい。適切な任意の界面活性
剤には、非イオン性界面活性剤、カチオン性界面活性剤、及びこれらの組合わせ
を含む。この任意の追加の界面活性剤がシャンプー組成物の必須の成分と併用性
があり、又は製品の性能、美観又は安定性を不当に該する子のが無ければ、ヘア
ケア又はパーソナルケア製品への使用がこの分野で知られたいかなる界面活性剤
も使用することができる。シャンプー組成物中のこの任意の追加の界面活性剤の
濃度は、所望の洗浄力又は泡立ち性、選択した任意の界面活性剤、所望の製品濃
度、組成物に存在するその他の成分、及びこの分野で知られたその他の要因によ
って変化する。
シャンプー組成物の使用に適したその他のアニオン性、双イオン性、両性又は
任意の追加の界面活性剤は、McCutchon's,emulsifiers and detergents,1989年
版、M.C.Publishing Company発行、及び米国特許3,929,678号、米国特許2,658,0
75号、米国特許2,438,091号、米国特許2,528,378号に記載されており、ここに引

付着性ポリマー
付着性ポリマーは本発明の必須の成分である。それは一般的に重量で約0.0
1%から5%、好ましくは約0.05%から1%、更に好ましくは約0.08%
から0.5%の濃度で存在する。ポリマーはホモポリマーか又は2種又はそれ以
上のモノマーから形成されてもよい。ポリマーの分子量は、一般的に約5,00
0から約10,000,000の間、好ましくは約50,000から約5,00
0,000の間、最も好ましくは約100,000から約2,000,000の
間である。好ましい付着性ポリマーは、カチオン性ポリマーであり、好ましくは
第四級アンモニウム、陽イオン化したアミノ基又はこれらの混合物のようなグル
ープを含むカチオン性窒素を有する。カチオン性電荷密度は、少なくとも約0.
1meq/g、好ましくは約0.5meq/g以上、最も好ましくは約0.8meq/g以上が
必要であることがわかった。カチオン性電荷密度は、約5meq/gを超えるべきで
はなく、約3以下が好ましく、約2meq/g以下が更に好ましい。電荷密度は、Kje
ldahl法を使用して測定することができ、使用時の望ましいpH、一般的に約
3から9、好ましくは4から8の間で、上記の限度内であるべきである。
カチオン性窒素含有グループは、一般的にカチオン性ポリマーの全モノマーユ
ニットのフラクション上に置換基として存在する。従って、カチオン性ポリマー
がホモポリマーでない時は、それはスペーサーの非カチオン性モノマーユニット

適当なカチオン性ポリマーには、例えば、カチオン性アミン若しくは四級アン
モニウム官能性を有するビニルモノマーと、水溶性スペーサーモノマー、例えば
(メタ)アクリルアミド、アルキル及びジアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ア
ルキル(メタ)アクリレート、ビニルカプロラクトン並びにビニルピロリドンと
のコポリマーが含まれる。アルキル及びジアルキル置換モノマーは、好ましくは
、C1−C7アルキル基、より好ましくはC1−C3アルキル基を有する。他の
適当なスペーサーモノマーには、ビニルエステル、ビニルアルコール、マレイン
酸無水物、プロピレングリコール及びエチレングリコールが含まれる。
カチオン性アミンは、一級、二級又は三級アミンであることができ、これは、
組成物の特定の種及びpHに依存している。一般に、二級及び三級アミン、特に
三級アミンが好ましい。
アミン置換ビニルモノマーとアミン類は、アミン形態で重合することができ、
四級化反応によってアンモニウムに転化することができる。
適当なカチオン性アミノ及び四級アンモニウムモノマーには、例えば、ジアル
キルアミノアルキルアクリレート、ジアルキルアミノアルキルメタクリレート、
モノアルキルアミノアルキルアクリレート、モノアルキルアミノアルキルメタク
リレート、トリアルキルメタクリロキシアルキルアンモニウム塩、トリアルキル
アクリロキシアルキルアンモニウム塩、ジアリル四級アンモニウム塩で置換した
ビニル化合物;並びに環状カチオン性窒素含有環、例えばピリジニウム、イミダ
ゾリウム及び四級化ピロリジンを有するビニル四級アンモニウムモノマーが含ま
れ、例えばアルキルビニルイミダゾリニウム、及び四級化ピロリジン、例えばア
ルキルビニルイミダゾリウム、アルキルビニルピリジニウム、アルキルビニルピ
ロリジン塩が含まれる。これらのモノマーのアルキル部分は、好ましくはC1−
C3アルキル、より好ましくはC1−C2アルキルのような低級アルキルである
。
ここで使用する適切なアミン置換ビニルモノマーは、ジアルキルアミノアルキ
ルアクリレート、ジアルキルアミノアルキルメタアクリレート、ジアルキルアミ
ノアルキルアクリルアミド、及びジアルキルアミノアルキルメタアクリルアミド
であり、アルキル基は好ましくはC1−C7炭化水素、更に好ましくはC1−C

ここでのカチオン性ポリマーは、アミン−及び/又は四級アンモニウム−置換
されたモノマー及び/又は適合性のあるスペーサーモノマーから誘導されるモノ
マーユニットの混合物を含むことができる。
適切なカチオン性付着性ポリマーには、例えば、1−ビニル−2−ピロリジン
及び1−ビニル−3−メチルイミダゾリウム塩(例えばクロリド塩)のコポリマー
(Cosmetic,Toiletry and Fragrance Association,“CTFA”により当産業界では
Polyquaternium-16と呼ばれている)、これは例えばBASF Wyandotte Corp.(Parsi
ppany,NJ,USA)からLUVIQUATの商品名で市販されている(例えばLUVIQUAT FC 370)
;1−ビニル−2−ピロリジンとジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレートのコポリ
マー(CTFAにより当業界ではPolyquaternium-11と呼ばれている)、これは例えばI
SP Corporation(Wayne,NJ.USA)からGAFQUATの商品名で市販されている(例えばGA
FQAT 755N);カチオン性ジアリル四級アンモニウム含有ポリマー、これには例え
ば、ジメチルジアリルアンモニウムクロリドホモポリマー並びにアクリルアミド
とジメチルジアリルアンモニウムクロリドのコポリマーとが含まれ、当産業界(C
TFA)ではそれぞれPolyquaternium6及びPolyquaternium7と呼ばれている;並び
に、3から5の炭素原子を有する不飽和カルボン酸のホモ及びコポリマーのアミ
ノアルキルエステルの鉱酸塩であって、引用して本文に組み入れる米国特許第4,
009,256号に記述されているものが含まれる。
使用できるその他のカチオン性ポリマーには、多糖ポリマー、例えばカチオン
性セルロース誘導体及びカチオン性デンプン誘導体が含まれる。ここでの使用に
適するカチオン性多糖ポリマー物質には、下記の式のものが含まれる:ここで:Aはアンヒドログルコース残基、例えばデンプン又はセルロースのアン
ヒドログルコース残基であり、Rはアルキレンオキシアルキレン、ポリオキシア
ルキレン若しくはヒドロキシアルキレン基又はこれらの組み合わせであり、R1

R3の炭素原子の合計)は、好ましくは約20以下であり、Xは、既述のアニオ
ン性対イオンである。
カチオン性セルロースは、トリメチルアンモニウム置換エポキシドとの反応に
よるヒドロキシエチルセルロースの塩として、Polymer JR(商標)及びLR(商標
)シリーズでAmerchol Corp.(Edison,NJ,USA)から入手可能であり、これは当産
業界(CTFA)でPolyquaternium10と呼ばれている。カチオン性セルロースの他のタ
イプには、ラウリルジメチルアンモニウム置換エポキシドとの反応によるヒドロ

されているもの)が含まれる。
付着性ポリマーはシャンプー組成物中で溶解性であってはならない。しかし、
好ましくは、カチオン性ポリマーはシャンプー組成物中で溶解性であるか、又は
カチオン性ポリマーとアニオン性物質によって形成されるシャンプー組成物中の
複合コアセルベート相で溶解性である。カチオン性ポリマーの複合コアセルベー
ト相は、組成物に任意的に添加することができるアニオン性界面活性剤又はアニ
オン性ポリマー(例えば、ナトリウムポリスチレンスルフォネート)とで形成さ
れる。
コアセルベートの形成は、分子量、濃度、及び相互作用するイオン性物質、イ
オン強度(例えば塩の添加によるイオン強度の変形を含む)、カチオン種とアニ
オン種の電荷密度、pH、及び温度のような様々な条件に依存している。コアセ

カチオン性ポリマーがコアセルベート相でシャンプーに存在すること、又はシ
ャンプーの使用又はすすぎで毛髪に又は毛髪からコアセルベート相を形成するこ
とが特に有利であると信じられる。複合コアセルベートが更に毛髪の上に付着し
やすいと信じられる。従って、一般的にカチオン性ポリマーがシャンプー中でコ
アセルベート相として存在する、又は希釈時にコアセルベート相を形成すること
が好ましい。シャンプー中に既にコアセルベートがない場合は、カチオン性ポリ
マーは、好ましくはシャンプー中で、約20:1、更に好ましくは約10:1、
なお更に好ましくは約8:1の水:シャンプー組成物の比で水で希釈されて、複
合コアセルベートの形で存在する。
複合コアセルベートの形成の分析技術はこの分野で知られている。例えば、任
意の選択した希釈段階で、シャンプー組成物の顕微鏡分析が、コアセルベート相
が形成されたかどうかを特定するために使用することが出来る。かかるコアセル
ベート相は、組成物中で付加的に乳化された相として特定されうる。染料の使用
はコアセルベート相を組成物中に分散するその他の不溶性の相から区別する手助
けとなる。
好ましくは付着性ポリマーは、ヒドロキシアルキルセルロースエーテルとカチ
オン性グアー誘導体を含むグループから選ばれる。特に好ましい付着性ポリマー
は、Jaguar C13S、Jaguar C15、Jaguar C17、Jaguar C16及びJaguar C162である
。他の好ましいセルロースエーテルは、Polymer JR400、JR30M及びJR125である
。
乳化重合シリコーンポリマー
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、直鎖ジメチルポリシロキサンモノマーの乳化重
合から得られる非揮発性シリコーンエマルジョンポリマーを含む。乳化重合シリ
コーンの濃度は、一般的に約0.005%から約10%、好ましくは約0.05
%から約5%、更に好ましくは約0.1%から約4%、最も好ましくは約0.2
%から約3%の範囲にある。シャンプー組成物は好ましくはジメチコノールを含
む。ジメチコノールシリコーンは、そのままで使用することも、又は更にメチル
基で末端を封鎖されることもできる。乳化重合されたシリコーンは、有機官能基
(アミン、エステル、四級化、など)もまた含むことができる。乳化重合シリコ
ーンはこの分野では知られており、米国特許2,891,920、3,294,725、及び3,360,
491に記載されており、これらの全部を引用して本文に組み入れる。
乳化重合ジメチルシロキサンマイクロエマルジョンは、欧州特許268,982に記載
されており、これらは引用して本文に組み入れる。
乳化重合されたシリコーンのための最も普通の方法には、次の式に対応する環
状オルガノポリシロキサンの乳化を含む:
ここで、nは約3から約7、好ましくは約3から約5である。乳化オルガノポリ
シロキサンは、次いで重合して高粘度のシリコーン流体になる。このプロセスは
、実際には、約10-15%の環状シリコーンが乳化相中に残った平衡プロセス
である。
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、環状オルガノポリシロキサンから導入される乳
化重合されたシリコーンが実質的に存在しないことが好ましい。ここで使用する
ように、用語「実質的に存在しない」は、約1%以下、好ましくは約0.5%以
下、更に好ましくは約0.2%以下、なお更に好ましくは約0.1%以下、最も
好ましくは約0.05%以下の環状オルガノポリシロキサンから導入される乳化
重合されたシリコーンを含む組成物を意味する。
高粘度シリコーンエマルジョンの製造のもう一つの乳化重合方法は、次の式の
低分子量直鎖オルガノポリシロキサンの乳化を含む:
HO-[Si(R1R2)O]n-H
ここで、R1R2は同一又は異なり、CH3、有機官能性アルキル、及び直鎖又は
分岐鎖の炭素数約1から22のアルキル基からなるグループから選ばれ;nは約
10より大きく約100であり、好ましくは約15より大きく約100であり、
更に好ましくは約20より大きく約75であり、なお更に好ましくは約20より
大きく約50である。直鎖オルガノポリシロキサンは、次いで縮合反応を経由し
て重合され、高粘度のシリコーンポリマーを得る。
理論により制約されることなく、出願人は環状シリコーンを使用して作られた
乳化重合シリコーンエマルジョンはコンデイショニングシャンプー組成物の泡に
負の影響を与える。しかし、直鎖ジメチルポリシロキサンの重合から得られるシ
リコーンエマルジョンは、少ない泡の抑制でコンデイショニングシャンプー組成
物に加えることができる。理論により制約されないことを望むが、出願人は更に
、残留する環状シリコーンが乳化相から界面活性剤相に達し、そして抑泡剤又は
汚れ負荷として作用し、発泡性能を低下させると信ずる。直鎖ジメチルポリシロ
キサンの重合の縮合重合から得られる乳化重合シリコーンエマルジョンは、高い
反応の完結性と、出発物質が界面活性剤相に達するのを防止するに十分な分子量
であるために、コンデイショニングシャンプー組成物中で泡立ちに負の影響を示
さ
ない。
本発明の直鎖低分子量のオルガノポリシロキサンから誘導される乳化重合シリ
コーンは、均一な付着性のシャンプー組成物を提供し、従って湿潤及び乾燥時の
櫛通り性、及び乾燥時の毛髪感触のようなコンデイショニング効果を与える。更
に直鎖低分子量のオルガノポリシロキサンから誘導される乳化重合シリコーンは
、シャンプーの泡立ちの抑制を最小にしてシャンプー組成物中に含めることがで
きる。直鎖低分子量のオルガノポリシロキサンから誘導される乳化重合シリコー
ンの平均粒子径は、好ましくは約2μm以下、好ましくは約1μm以下、更に好
ましくは約0.5μm以下、尚更に好ましくは約0.3μm以下、尚更に好まし
くは約0.15μm以下、最も好ましくは約0.1μm以下である。
水
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、組成物の重量で約20%から約94%、好まし
くは約50%から約90%、更に好ましくは約60%から約85%の水を含む水
性の系である。
任意成分
ここに記述した必須成分に加えて、本発明のシャンプー組成物はヘアケア又は
パーソナルケア製品へ使用するために一種又はそれ以上の知られた成分を更に含
んでもよい。ただし、この任意成分は、ここに記述した必須成分と物理的及び化
学的に両立するものであり、或いは製品の安定性、美観、又は性能に不都合に影
響しないものである。このような任意成分の非限定的な例は、International Co
smetic Ingredient Dictionary、1993年第5編、及びCTFA Cosmetic Ingredie
nt Handbook、1992年第2編に記載されており、ここのその全体を引用して

シャンプー組成物は、更に泡の性能を改良するためにポリアルキレングリコー
ルを含んでもよい。シャンプー組成物中のポリアルキレングリコールの濃度は、
組成物の重量で約0.01%から約5%、好ましくは約0.05%から約3%、
更に好ましくは約0.1%から約2%の範囲である。
任意のポリアルキレングリコールは、次の一般式で特徴づけられる:

ーであり、これらはポリプロピレンオキサイド、ポリオキシプロピレン、及びポ

上記の構造で、nは約1500から約25,000、好ましくは約2500か
ら約20,000、最も好ましくは約3500から約15,000の平均値であ
る。
ここで有用なポリエチレングリコールポリマーは、RがHでnが約2000の
平均値である時PEG−2Mであり(PEG−2MはPolyox WSR N-10としても知
られており、Union Carbideから入手でき、PEG−2000としても知られて
いる);RがHでnが約5000の平均値である時PEG−5Mであり(PEG−
5MはPolyox WSR N-35及びPolyox WSR N-80としても知られており、両者はUnio
n Carbideから入手でき、そしてPEG−5000及びポリエチレングリコール3
00,000としても知られている);RがHでnが約7000の平均値である時PE
G−7Mであり(PEG−7MはPolyox WSR N-750としても知られており、Union

その他の有用なポリマーには、ポリエチレングリコール類及び混合ポリエチレ
ン/ポリプロピレングリコール類が含まれる。懸濁剤
本発明のシャンプー組成物は、更に好ましいシリコーンコンデイショニング剤
又はその他の水不溶性物質を、シャンプー組成物中で分散した形態で、懸濁させ
るために有効な濃度で懸濁剤を含むことができる。このような濃度は、シャンプ
ー組成物の重量で約0.1%から約10%、好ましくは約0.3%から約5.0
%の範囲である。
任意の懸濁剤には、結晶懸濁剤を含み、これはアシル誘導体、長鎖アミンオキ
サイド、及びこれらの混合物として分類することが出来、その濃度はシャンプー
組成物の重量で約0.1%から約5.0%、好ましくは約0.5%から約3.0
%の範囲である。これらの懸濁剤は米国特許4,741,855号に記載され、それをこ
こに引用して本文に組み入れる。これらの好ましい懸濁剤には、エチレングリコ
ール脂肪酸エステル、好ましくは約16から約22の炭素原子を有するものを含
む。更に好ましくは、エチレングリコールステアレート、モノ及びジステアレー
トの両者であるが、特に約7%以下のモノステアレートを含むジステアレートで
ある。
その他の適当な懸濁剤は、好ましくは約16から22の炭素原子、更に好まし
くは約16から18の炭素原子を有する脂肪酸のアルカノールアミドを含み、そ
の好ましい例には、ステアリン酸モノエタノールアミド、ステアリン酸ジエタノ
ールアミド、ステアリン酸モノイソプロパノールアミド、及びステアリン酸モノ
エタノールアミドステアレートである。その他の長鎖アシル誘導体には、長鎖脂
肪酸の長鎖エステル(例えば、ステアリルステアレート、セチルパルミテート等)
;グリセリルエステル(例えば、グリセリルジステアレート)及び長鎖アルカノ
ールアミドの長鎖エステル(例えば、ステアラミドジエタノールアミドジステア
レート、ステアラミドモノエタノールアミドステアレート)を含む。上記のリス
トした好ましい物質に加えて、長鎖アシル誘導体、長鎖カルボン酸エチレングリ
コールエステル、長鎖アミンオキサイド、及び長鎖カルボン酸アルカノールアミ
ド
が懸濁剤として使用できる。例えば、C8−C22鎖を有する長鎖炭化水素を有
する懸濁剤が使用できることが期待できる。
懸濁剤として使用するその他の長鎖アシル誘導体は、N,N−ジヒドロカルビ
ルアミド安息香酸及びこの水溶性塩(例えばNa及びK塩)、特にN,N−ジ(水
素化)C16、C18及び牛脂アミド安息香酸を含み、これはStepan Company(N
orthfield,Illinois,USA)から商業的に入手できる。
懸濁剤として使用するための長鎖アミンオキサイドの適切な例には、アルキル
(C16−C22)ジメチルアミンオキサイド、例えばステアリルジメチルアミ
ンオキサイドを含む。
その他の適当な懸濁剤は、シャンプー組成物の重量で約0.3%から約3%、
好ましくは約0.4%から約1.2%の範囲の濃度のキサンタンガムである。シ
リコーン含有シャンプー組成物へのキサンタンガムの懸濁剤としての使用は、例
えば米国特許4,788,006号に記載されており、この全体を引用して本文に組み入
れる。長鎖アシル誘導体とキサンタンガムの組合わせもまた、シャンプー組成物
中で懸濁剤として使用しても良い。このような組合わせは例えば米国特許4,704,
272号に記載されており、この全体を引用して本文に組み入れる。
その他の適当な懸濁剤はカルボキシビニルポリマーである。これらのポリマー
の中の好ましいものは、米国特許2,798,053号に記載されているようなポリアリ
ル多糖で架橋されたアクリル酸のコポリマーであり、この全体を引用して本文に
組み入れる。これらのポリマーの例は、B.F.Goodrich Companyから入手できるCa
rbopol 934,940,941及び956である。
その他の適当な懸濁剤は、少なくとも16の炭素数の脂肪アルキル基を有する1
級アミン、その例はパルミトアミン又はステアラミンであり、そしてそれぞれが
約12の炭素数の2個の脂肪族アルキル基を有する2級アミン、その例はジパル
ミトイルアミン又はジ(水素化牛脂)アミンである。なおその他の適当な懸濁剤
は、ジ(水素化牛脂)フタル酸アミド、及び架橋したマレイン酸無水物−メチル
ビニルエーテルコポリマーを含む。
その他の適当な懸濁剤がシャンプー組成物中で使用でき、これらは組成物にゲ
ル状の粘性を付与することが出来るもので、例えばセルロースエーテル(例えば
メチルセルロース、ヒドロキシブチルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセ
ルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルエチルセル
ロース、及びヒドロキシエチルセルロース)、グアーガム、ポリビニルアルコー
ル、ポリビニルピロリドン、ヒドロキシプロピルグアーガム、でんぷん、及びで
んぷん誘導体のような水溶性又はコロイド状の水溶性のポリマー、その他の濃厚

フォン酸アンモニウム;プロピレングリコール;ポリビニルアルコール;エチル
アルコール;クエン酸、コハク酸、リン酸、水酸化ナトリウム及び炭酸ナトリウ
ムのようなpH調整剤;香料及び組成物の美的外観を改良する着色剤;過酸化水
素;サンスクリーン剤;染毛剤;グリセリンその他の多価アルコールのような湿
潤剤;保湿剤;湿潤剤;酸化防止剤;及びEDTAのようなキレート剤;抗炎症
剤;ステロイド類;局所麻酔剤;メントールのような頭皮刺激剤を含む。カチオ
ン性コンデイショニングポリマーもまたシャンプー組成物中で使用することがで
きる。
合成エステルもまたシャンプー組成物中で使用することができ、シャンプー組
成物の他の必須成分と組み合せて使用すると改良された湿った毛髪感触を与える
