It is pointed out by the UK Ministry of Defense and others that the biggest cause is that the movement of the image does not match the movement of the observer's body. That is, it is said that one of the causes is that a conflict occurs between the information of the movement coming from the eyes and the information of the movement obtained from the muscles and the sense of parallelism. Several attempts have been made to eliminate this cause. The first is a see-through function. In order to eliminate the above-mentioned cause, an atmosphere of the outside world is arbitrarily obtained. The second is to make the eyeglasses smaller so that a part of the surroundings can be seen from the periphery of the eyeglasses. In this way, the surrounding environment can be grasped even when the head-mounted display is mounted.

When the head of the observer wearing the head mounted display fluctuates or tilts, the fluctuation or tilt is amplified and the screen fluctuates. For example, the screen or image should be viewed horizontally, but when the head shakes or the body tilts, the screen also tilts. The tilting of the screen indicates that there is no reference to be horizontal in the field of view.

In this case, if the head is turned to the right, the image is displayed to the right, and if the face is raised, the ceiling direction can be seen. However, tilting the face also tilts the screen.

Based on the information, the displayed image is always horizontal.

At the time of tilting as shown in b), the head mounted display 13 also tilts, but the displayed image is kept horizontal. In this case, the observation screen 11 also looks horizontal.

1, a mirror 22, and a display element 23. The control unit includes a rotation transmission mechanism 24 composed of a motor, a rotation mechanism 25, and a control circuit 26. The attitude sensor 27 detects the inclination of the head-mounted display from the horizontal as an electric signal, and calculates a rotation angle by the control unit. Transmission mechanism 2
4. The display device 23 is rotated by the rotation mechanism 25 so as to eliminate the inclination from the optimum angle, that is, the horizontal position. By doing so, when the observer views the head-mounted display, even if the head is tilted, the image that can be seen inside remains horizontal.

That is, the same effect can be obtained by rotating an image on a screen by image processing and displaying the image. However, the electronic method has a drawback such that the edge of the image is lost or the resolution is reduced when the image is rotated, but the speed of following the change is greatly improved because no mechanical operation is involved.
