In the connector housings 1 connected in this manner, the tab parallel direction T and the orthogonal direction S between the two connector housings 1 are positioned by the pair of tab positioning means 9. An appropriate contact state between the tab portion 6c of the terminal 6 of the connector housing 1 and the tab contact portion 6d of the terminal 6 of the other connector housing 1 is guaranteed.

In the first embodiment, each of the pair of projections 10 and each of the pair of grooves 11 are configured to be wider as they go closer to each other in the tab parallel direction T. Since the distance between the protrusions 10 and the distance between the pair of grooves 11 is set to be slightly different, at least the protrusion 10 and the surface of the groove 11 contact at any one point on both sides.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1C, since an external force F acts on the upper connector housing 1, the component force F1 in the tab parallel direction T due to the external force F of the pair of tab portion positioning means 9 acts. Since the external forces (the above-mentioned reaction forces) act in the directions of compressing each other, the backlash of both connector housings 1 can be prevented.

The upper connector housing 1 is positioned with respect to the direction S orthogonal to the tab parallel direction T by the component force F2 of the external force F in the direction S orthogonal to the tab parallel direction T, and rattling is prevented. Is done. The lower connector housing 1 is similarly positioned in the direction S perpendicular to the tab parallel direction T because the reaction force acts on the lower connector housing 1 and is prevented from rattling. That is, the positioning between the pair of tab portion positioning means 9 is performed at least around the positioning line shown in FIG.

Next, the backlash absorbing shape of the projection 10 of the tab positioning means 9 will be described in detail with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 10 (A), as the shape of the projection 10, when the projection 10 is divided into a right side 10 a and a left side 10 b, these may extend obliquely and have a concave central part. Can be However, in this shape, the moving direction of the mold must be in the direction of the arrow, which is disadvantageous in terms of cost unlike the moving direction of the mold forming the connector housing 1 of the first embodiment. As shown in FIG. 10B, the shape of the projection 10 may be a cylindrical shape having a hole 10c therein. In this shape, the moving direction of the mold is set to a direction orthogonal to the paper surface. This is necessary, and unlike the moving direction of the mold forming the connector housing 1 of the first embodiment, this is also disadvantageous in cost. The shape of the first embodiment shown in FIG. 10C is the same as the moving direction of the mold forming the connector housing 1 of the first embodiment, which is advantageous in cost.

The dimensional relationship between the overall positioning projections 2 and the projections 10 and the overall positioning grooves 3 and the grooves 11 will be described with reference to FIG. As described above, since the projections 10 and the grooves 11 of the tab positioning means 9 can prevent the connector housing 1 from rattling with each other, the dimensional difference between the overall positioning projections 2 and the overall positioning groove 3 can be increased to some extent. There is no wobble with setting. Therefore, the dimensions of the entire positioning projection 2 and the entire positioning groove 3 can be set so that the entire positioning projection 2 can be easily inserted into the positioning groove 3.

A plurality of erroneous connection preventing projections 23 are provided on the front and lower connecting surface 19a of the connector housing 19, and each of the erroneous connection preventing projections 23 is configured to be easily cut. FIG. 14 shows a state where one of the misconnection prevention protrusions 23 is cut away. A plurality of holes 24 are provided on the front side of the connector housing 19 and at positions corresponding to the plurality of misconnection prevention protrusions 23 near the upper connection surface 19a. Above each of the holes 24, a removable thin wall 25 (partially hatched in FIG. 12) is provided. FIG. 14 shows a state in which one wall 25 of the hole 24 has been removed. By removing the wall 25, the misconnection prevention protrusion 2

By the way, if the connector housing 1 of the first embodiment is provided with a means for preventing misconnection such as the connector housing 19 of the second embodiment, the connector housing 1 in addition to the functions and effects of the first embodiment can be obtained. 1 can be prevented from being connected incorrectly. Further, if tab positioning means 9 like the connector housing 1 of the first embodiment is added to the connector housing 19 of the second embodiment, one of the connectors can be provided in addition to the operation and effect of the second embodiment. An appropriate contact state between the tab portion of the terminal of the housing 19 and the tab contact portion of the terminal of the other connector housing 19 is ensured. In addition, since the front side of the connector housing 19 is the mounting side of the mating connector, if there is a positional shift on the front side between the two connector housings 19, the mounting operation of the mating connector may be hindered. There is nothing.

As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the two connector housings are connected to each other on the opposing connection surface side of the connected connector housings when moving to the connection position. The connector housing is provided with a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers arranged in parallel with each other, and each terminal accommodating chamber is provided with a tab projecting toward the connection surface side and the connection surface side. Each terminal having a tab contact portion that can be contacted by a tab portion inserted from the opposite connection surface side is accommodated, and at the connection position of both connector housings, the tab portion and the tab contact portion of the terminals facing each other are connected. Are brought into contact with each other and at positions near the outer sides of the tab portions of the plurality of terminals arranged in parallel, on the opposite connection surface sides of the two connector housings. Since a pair of tab positioning means for positioning a tab parallel direction in which the tab portions of the terminals of the connector housing are parallel and a direction orthogonal to the tab parallel direction are provided, both of them are provided by a pair of tab portion positioning means. The tab-parallel direction and the orthogonal direction between the connector housings are positioned, so that an appropriate contact state between the tab portion of the terminal of one connector housing and the tab contact portion of the terminal of the other connector housing is ensured.

According to the second aspect of the present invention, a plurality of cut-off prevention protrusions can be cut on one of the upper and lower connection surfaces of the connector housing, and the other cut-off prevention protrusions are provided at positions corresponding to the cut-off prevention protrusions. A plurality of holes through which the misconnection prevention protrusion can be inserted by cutting the wall, so that the connecting surfaces of the connecting housings can be connected in an appropriate order of the connector housings to be connected. If the protrusion for preventing misconnection and the wall of the hole are cut in advance so that only the protrusion for preventing misconnection and the hole are combined, even if the connection is attempted in the wrong combination, the connection cannot be made. Incorrect connection order can be prevented.

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the press-fitting joint connector according to the first or third aspect, the pair of tab positioning means is provided on one of the connector housing-side connecting surfaces. And a pair of grooves provided on the connection surface on the other connector housing side and engaged with the pair of protrusions, wherein each of the pair of protrusions and the pair of grooves is The distance between the pair of protrusions and the distance between the pair of grooves is set to be slightly different from each other in the direction in which the tabs are arranged closer to or away from each other in the tab parallel direction. In addition to the effects of the invention, an external force acts on each connector housing via the pair of tab portion positioning means in a direction in which the connector housings are pulled or compressed with respect to the tab parallel direction. To external force is applied to position in a direction perpendicular tabs parallel direction relative to each other in the connector housing via a positioning means for blanking portion, thereby preventing looseness of both connector housings.
