Since it is necessary to inspect b and 1c, the extruded product 1 must be observed from above and from both sides.
Conventionally, when performing such an appearance inspection from multiple directions, a plurality of cameras are installed so that images of each surface of the inspection object can be captured, the camera itself is moved, or the inspection object is moved. Or, a method of rotating is used. Alternatively, as described in JP-A-6-273339, there is a method in which an image of each surface of the inspection object held at a fixed position is imaged from one direction by using a plurality of reflecting mirrors.

In the appearance inspection apparatus described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 6-273339, the above-mentioned problem can be solved since each surface of the inspection object can be imaged from one direction, but the defect to be detected is small. If it is not easy to find out, for example, if the object is an object, how to judge the quality of the inspection object becomes a problem.

In addition, since extruded products are generally produced continuously in a series of lines, it is desirable from the viewpoint of production efficiency to inspect the extruded products flowing in the line without stopping them, but from the viewpoint of production efficiency. In the appearance inspection apparatus described in the publication, it is necessary to temporarily hold the inspection object at a fixed position, and it is difficult to meet such a demand.

The A / D converter 16 takes in an image signal from the one-dimensional CCD camera 15, A / D converts the image signal, and sends the conversion result to the pass / fail judgment device 17. The pass / fail determination device 17 performs a binarization process on the input from the A / D conversion device 16 and determines pass / fail of the appearance of the extruded product 1 as described later. The result of the determination by the pass / fail determination device 17 is sent to the transfer device 9, where the non-defective products are sorted into the non-defective carts, the defective products are sorted into the defective carts, and the defective products flow to the post-process. Not to be. The above flow is summarized in FIG.

The illuminating light from the illuminating devices 10, 11 and 12 is reflected on the surface of the extruded product 1 directly or through the reflecting mirror 1
The light is received by the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 via 3 and 14. At this time, the extruded product 1 is moving in the direction of arrow A, and the light receiving amount of each constituent pixel of the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 is sequentially detected in the direction of arrow B, and the extruded product 1 is scanned in the same direction. Therefore, the bottom surface 1 a and the side surface 1
b and 1c are continuously imaged on the entire surface. Thus, it is possible to inspect continuously manufactured extruded products 1 on a production line while reducing costs by performing imaging from one direction using a one-dimensional CCD camera 15, thereby improving inspection efficiency. As a result, production efficiency can be improved.

The amount of light received by the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 is
When the surface of the extruded product 1 is uniform, it is not less than a certain value and hardly changes depending on the imaging location. On the other hand, when the surface of the extruded product 1 has a convex portion 1d (see FIG. 4), when light is irradiated from the oblique direction to the surface, the vicinity of the convex portion 1d becomes dark, and the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 has a characteristic that the amount of received light decreases. For this reason, by setting an appropriate binarization threshold value in advance, when the convex portion 1d is scanned, the amount of light received by the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 is reduced as shown in FIG. , The abnormal appearance of the extruded product 1 can be detected. Further, the width of the foreign matter (the width of the convex portion 1d) can be detected based on the width w of the portion below the binarization threshold value. stored in advance in the width w o corresponding to 0.5mm as quality determination reference value, poor appearance unit the imaging position in the case of the former the detected width w as compared to the width w o exceeds the latter It is judged as. Thereby, the appearance inspection device 7 can detect even a minute defect with high accuracy.

Although the specific embodiments of the present invention have been described with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to the above-described configuration, and design changes and the like may be made without departing from the scope of the invention. Even if present, it is included in the present invention. For example, even if the appearance defect to be detected is not convex but concave or other,
If the amount of light received by the imaging device changes due to non-uniform reflection of the light emitted from the oblique direction, the inspection can be performed similarly. Further, the one-dimensional CCD camera 15 is used for the extruded product 1.
Although the reflected light on the bottom surface 1a is directly received, the reflected light on all the surfaces to be imaged may be received via the reflecting member.
