Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize excellent corrosion resistance and good dimensional accuracy by molding specified vol.% of a thermosetting resin and tungsten powder or tungsten alloy powder into a balancer. SOLUTION: A thermosetting resin by 10 to 30 vol.% is mixed with tungsten (alloy) powder in a wet mixing machine for 30 min and dried in a drying machine for 60 min. The obtd. mixture is supplied to fill molding dies and compacted at 5 t/cm2 pressure. Then the compacted body is put in a hardening furnace and hardened by heating at 180 deg.C for 60 min to obtain a tungsten balancer 1. The inner circumference part and the outer circumference part have chamfered portions 2, 3. The tungsten powder may be a tungsten alloy powder, and for example, W-Ni-Cu alloy and W-Ni-Fe alloy can be used. As for the thermosetting resin, a triazine resin having good corrosion resistance or a resin essentially comprising a phenol resin is used and is preferably in a liquid state.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as this type of disk balancer, a sintered product using tungsten powder has been known.
Since this tungsten has a high melting point, its sintering phenomenon is due to liquid phase sintering. Copper is an essential element in order to cause this liquid phase phenomenon. However, when copper is mixed with tungsten, the corrosion resistance of copper becomes a problem. Further, under high temperature and high humidity, hydroxide is formed also on tungsten, which has been a serious problem in an apparatus relating to information recording which requires a high degree of reliability.

Therefore, as measures against the corrosion resistance of the tungsten-made sintered product, there have been reports that the sintered product is plated with nickel or that cobalt powder is added during powder molding. There was a limit, not enough. In addition, since the tungsten-copper alloy has a very large shrinkage during sintering, a thin disk balancer has a problem in terms of flatness requiring dimensional accuracy.

When manufacturing the disk balancer 1 constructed as described above, first, a tungsten powder and a thermosetting resin are prepared. The tungsten powder may be a tungsten alloy powder, for example, a W-Ni-Cu alloy (6 wt% Ni, 4 wt% Cu, residual W or 3 wt% Ni, 2 wt% Cu, residual W or 1.8 wt%) % Ni,
1.2 wt% Cu, balance W), W-Ni-Fe alloy (4.9 wt% Ni, 2.1 wt% Fe, balance W or 3.5 wt% Ni, 1.5 wt% Fe, A powder such as the remaining W) is appropriately used. The thermosetting resin is, for example, a triazine resin having good corrosion resistance or a resin mainly composed of a phenol resin, a modified phenol resin, a melamine resin, a urea resin, or the like, and is preferably in a liquid state.

Next, 10 to 30% by volume of the thermosetting resin and tungsten (alloy) powder are mixed for 30 minutes by a wet mixer (see reference numeral 10 in FIG. 2), and further dried for 60 minutes by a dryer. (See reference numeral 11 in FIG. 2). In the mixing step, the thermosetting resin is in a liquid state and is easily mixed with each other due to wet mixing, so that it can be uniformly mixed. The mixture thus obtained is filled in a molding die and molded at a pressure of 5 t / cm 2 (see reference numeral 12 in FIG. 2). Subsequently, the molded body was placed in a curing furnace at 180 ° C.
The resin was cured by heating for 60 minutes (see reference numeral 13 in FIG. 2) to obtain a tungsten resin molded product (disk balancer 1).

Since the disk balancer 1 manufactured as described above is made of a molded product of a thermosetting resin and a tungsten (alloy) powder, the thermosetting resin and a tungsten powder (alloy) are used. By uniformly mixing and molding, a molded product having better dimensional accuracy can be obtained as compared with a conventional sintered product made of a tungsten-copper alloy, and the tungsten surface is coated with a thermosetting resin. Thereby, the corrosion resistance can be improved. Moreover, pores are formed inside the thermosetting resin by binding the tungsten particles to each other. The porosity of this molded product (disk balancer 1) is 5 to 5.
At 20%, its specific gravity was 14-12. Thereby, while securing a sufficient weight as the balancer, the noise can be absorbed by the internal holes when the balancer rotates, and the noise can be prevented.

According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a thin plate-shaped balancer used for a magnetic recording apparatus, comprising a molded product of 10 to 30% by volume of a thermosetting resin and a tungsten powder or a tungsten alloy powder. Therefore, by mixing and molding a thermosetting resin and tungsten powder,
A molded product with better dimensional accuracy can be obtained compared to the conventional sintered product made of tungsten-copper alloy, and the corrosion resistance can be improved by coating the surface of tungsten with a thermosetting resin. Moreover, since the thermosetting resin binds the tungsten particles to each other, pores are formed inside, which can contribute to the prevention of noise when rotating. According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the molded product has a porosity of 5 to 20% and a specific gravity of 14 to 12, a sufficient weight as a balancer is secured by the porosity and specific gravity. In addition, noise can be absorbed by the internal holes, and noise can be prevented. Claim 3 of the present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a thin plate-like balancer used for a magnetic recording apparatus, wherein 10 to 30% by volume of a thermosetting resin liquid and tungsten powder or tungsten alloy powder are wet-mixed and dried. , Forming a molded body with this mixture,
Since a tungsten resin molded product is obtained by heat curing, the thermosetting resin and tungsten can be easily mixed, and a uniform and high-precision product can be easily manufactured.
