Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the friction force between an outer circumferential surface of a mandrel and a fin head part of a metallic tube in expanding an end part of the metallic tube with fins fitted inside using the mandrel by providing an outer circumferential groove for lubricating oil storage formed in the circumferential direction of the outer circumferential surface of the mandrel. SOLUTION: This mandrel 11 for expansion having outer circumferential grooves is formed spherical or bullet-shaped. A rod 5 is integratedly fixed to its rear end. A first outer circumferential groove 12 and a second outer circumferential groove 13 are cut in the circumferential direction of the outer circumferential surface of the mandrel 11 for expansion. The size of an opening part and the depth of the outer circumferential grooves 12, 13 are appropriately determined by the viscosity of the lubricating oil. For example, when the lubricating oil low in viscosity is used, the size of the opening part is reduced, and when the lubricating oil high in viscosity is used, the size of the opening part is increased. At least one outer circumferential grooves 12, 13 is provided on the outer circumference of the mandrel 11 for expansion having the outside diameter larger than the inside diameter of the metallic tube. The mandrel 11 for expansion having outer circumferential grooves is inserted in an end part of the metallic tube having inner circumferential fins.

2. Description of the Related Art When connecting a metal tube, a method is used in which the end of the metal tube is expanded in advance and then connected.
For example, in the connection work of a copper smooth tube or a copper inner finned metal tube used as a main heat exchange tube of an air conditioner heat exchanger, first, one end of the copper smooth inner tube or a copper inner finned metal tube is connected. Alternatively, both ends are expanded in a Vesmark shape, and then the end of the return bend pipe is inserted into the expanded portion, and then a hot-melt brazing material is poured into the inserted portion and connected by sealing.

However, as shown in FIG. 5, when the end portion of the metal tube 3 with internal fins made of copper is expanded by the conventional method of expanding a metal tube, the lubricating oil 9 is filled with the metal with internal fins made of copper. As a result, the lubricating oil 9 is not sufficiently formed on the head of the fin 7 where lubricating oil is originally required. For this reason, the frictional force between the outer peripheral surface of the tube expanding mandrel 1 and the head of the fin 7 of the metal tube 3 with the copper inner fin is increased, and as a result, the fins 7 are collapsed, bent, broken, or expanded. In some cases, troubles such as formation of a baked metal layer on the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel 1 may occur.

The metal pipe expanding mandrel according to one embodiment of the present invention having the above-described structure is a metal pipe 3 with an inner fin.
The first outer peripheral groove 12 is formed at the position where the inner finned metal tube 3 starts contacting with the fin 7 head when inserted into the end of the inner finned metal tube 3, and further inserted into the end of the inner finned metal tube 3. Since the second outer peripheral groove 13 is cut at an intermediate position of the end expansion range of the metal tube 3 with the inner surface fin, the lubricating oil 9 can be stored in the first outer peripheral groove 12 and the second outer peripheral groove 13. it can. Therefore, when the mandrel for expanding a metal pipe according to one embodiment of the present invention is pushed into the end of the metal pipe 3 with an inner fin and expanded, no oil shortage occurs. As a result, the outer peripheral surface and the inner surface of the mandrel for expanding a pipe are reduced. The frictional force between the finned metal tube and the fin head can be remarkably reduced, so that a high-quality metal tube with end-finished inner surface fins can be obtained.

When the end of the metal tube 3 with copper internal fins is expanded in this way, first, the first fin 71 of the metal tube 3 with copper internal fins contacts the lubricating oil 91 accumulated in the first outer peripheral groove 12. After being lubricated, it comes into contact with the outer circumferential grooved pipe expanding mandrel 11. The lubricating oil film of the second fin 72 already in contact with the pipe-expanding mandrel 11 with the outer peripheral groove is gradually thinned, but eventually the lubricating oil 92 accumulated in the second outer peripheral groove 13 is touched to provide sufficient lubrication again. And then comes into contact with the outer grooved expansion mandrel 11. Hereinafter, the same phenomenon continues, so that the oil does not run out, and as a result,
The frictional force between the outer peripheral surface of the pipe expanding mandrel and the fin head of the metal pipe with internal fins can be remarkably reduced, whereby a high-quality metal pipe with internal fins with end expansion can be obtained.
