2. Description of the Related Art FIG. 5 shows a film sensor which is one of flat cables. The film sensor 51 includes two circuit boards 54 each having a conductive layer 53 formed by printing a conductive paint on a flexible insulating plastic film 52 such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), such that the conductive layers 53 face each other. It is configured by bonding with an adhesive with a spacer 55 interposed therebetween. The spacer 55 is partially provided with an opening 56. When a pressing force is applied to the circuit board 54 at the position of the opening 56, the circuit board 54 is elastically deformed, and the upper and lower parts are vertically moved by the strength of the pressing force. The pressure is detected by utilizing the fact that the conductive layers 53 and 53 come into contact with each other and become electrically conductive.

In order to connect the connection piece 57 to the terminal fitting 61, as shown in FIG.
And a resilient tongue piece 6 facing the bottom plate 67
8, the connecting piece 57 is inserted against the elasticity of the elastic tongue piece 68. However, since the connection piece 57 is made of a flexible plastic film, it is necessary to insert the connection piece 57 into the elastic contact portion 63 with a small force without deformation. In order to insert the connecting piece 57 into the elastic contact portion 63 with a small force, the pressing pressure of the elastic contact portion 63 is naturally reduced. If the pressing pressure of the elastic tongue piece 68 of the elastic contact part 63 is reduced, the contact pressure required for electrical contact cannot be obtained, so that the connection piece 57 is inserted into the elastic contact part 63 and then rises from the bottom plate 67 of the terminal fitting 61. The tongue pressing portions 69, 69 prevent the elastic tongue 68 from returning, and increase the pressing pressure of the elastic tongue 68 of the elastic contact portion 63 to secure the contact pressure required for electrical contact. The flexible tongue piece 68 is bent to press the free end tip portion, and the connection piece 57 is securely electrically connected to the elastic contact portion 63.

However, in this connection method, since the elastic contact portion 63 and the connecting piece 57 are only in plane contact with each other, the flat cable is connected to the elastic contact portion 63 and the connecting piece 57 at this connecting portion. When a force is applied in a direction to separate the connection piece 57 from the connection piece 57, the connection piece 57 may come off from the elastic contact portion 63. Therefore, the terminal fitting 61 is located in such a place.
In this case, an adhesive tape 70 is attached to the connecting portion between the elastic contact portion 63 and the connecting piece 57 as shown in the upper elastic contact portion 63 in FIG. Had been. In such a case, it is necessary to similarly apply an adhesive tape to the lower elastic contact portion 63 in FIG. 6 to reinforce the connection portion. As described above, when it is necessary to reinforce the connection portion between the elastic contact portion 63 and the connection piece 57, the conventional connector 6 is configured such that the distal end portion of the elastic contact portion 63 of the terminal fitting 61 has a housing as shown in FIG. The connecting piece 57 of the film sensor 51 is inserted into the elastic contact portion 63 in a state exposed from 62, and the tongue pressing portions 69, 69 are processed to make an electrically reliable connection portion. The portion (the portion exposed to the outside from the housing 62) is reinforced with an adhesive sheet or tape 70 for insulation and mechanical reinforcement. For this reason, the terminal processing is very complicated, and the entire terminal fitting 61 is connected to the housing 62.
There is a drawback that the connection portion becomes large because it cannot be inserted into the inside.

[0007] By the way, not only film sensors but also flat cables actually have complicated terminals in order to cope with complicated circuit arrangements. If the terminal fittings are to be housed in the housing after the terminal fittings are attached, the work of positioning and the like becomes extremely complicated. Therefore, an operation procedure for attaching the connection piece of the flat cable to the terminal fittings mounted on the housing in advance is taken. In the work in accordance with such a work procedure, the width between the terminal fittings may be extremely narrow, and considerable skill is required to apply a reinforcing tape or the like to the above-described terminal fitting exposed portions, and the working time is also long. There were also problems such as the need for more.
