As described above, in a connector for mounting a printed circuit board such as a male connector of a package in which a large number of contacts are arranged, the contact may be caught on an edge of a through hole of the printed circuit board because of a high-density contact arrangement.
In addition, there is a problem to be solved in that since the legs of the contacts are elongated in order to align a large number of contacts, the contacts are easily deformed and may be electrically short-circuited.

Further, since the deformation preventing plate is integrally formed for each row of the contacts, it is easy to assemble the connector. Further, since the deformation preventing plates of each contact row are connected to each other successfully, the deformation preventing plates also serve as an alignment plate for contacts as a whole. Then, since the deformation preventing plate is engaged with the side wall of the insulating housing by the engaging members on both side end surfaces in the longitudinal direction,
Even when the rear end of the contact collides with the edge of the through hole of the printed circuit board to be mounted, the deformation preventing plate strongly resists.

In the connector A for a printed circuit board constructed as described above, the deformation preventing plate 14 provided integrally with the rear end 13b of the contact is connected to the through-hole of the printed circuit board to be mounted. The deformation of the contact 13 due to the collision of the contact 13b is prevented. Therefore, since the contact leg 13c exerts a resistance without being easily deformed, a failure in mounting is immediately detected, and an electrical short circuit is prevented. In this way, it is possible to solve the problem that some contacts are mounted in a conventional state while being deformed.

As described above, in the printed circuit board connector according to the present invention, a plurality of through holes into which contacts are fitted and fixed are arranged in parallel to form a row, and the rows are provided in a plurality of stages. A connector for a printed circuit board comprising: an insulating housing; and a contact having a front end fitted and fixed in each of the through holes and a rear end fixed to the printed circuit board. Since a deformation prevention plate that prevents terminal lifting during mounting on a printed circuit board is provided integrally, some of hundreds of contacts collide with the through-hole edge of the printed circuit board and deform. In addition, there is an excellent effect that the possibility of electrical short-circuit due to terminal floating is eliminated.

Since the deformation preventing plate is integrally molded at a predetermined position at the rear end of the contact for each row of the contacts, it is easy to assemble the connector, and is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the deformation preventing plate. At both end surfaces in the direction, engagement members are provided for connecting with the deformation preventing plates of the other adjacent contact rows, so that the resistance to the deformation force of the contacts is increased and the role of the alignment plate as a whole is improved. It has an excellent effect of being fulfilled.
