The present invention relates to a fluid-dynamic drive motor.
The task of the present invention is to create an engine capable of transforming kinetic energy supplied by a moving fluid, in particular of a gaseous current, into mechanical work.
As part of this task, an aim of the present invention is the realization of an engine capable of being used not only as a propeller, but also with actuator functions in operating machines and tools.
This task and this purpose are achieved with a fluid-dynamic drive motor characterized in that it comprises a box-like body defining a cavity having an axis of rotation symmetry, said cavity being defined by a peripheral wall consisting of a portion of a sphere concentric with said axis of symmetry and by two conical surfaces having coaxial axes to said axis of symmetry and the ends converging towards each other, a transmission member is rotatably supported in said box-like body according to said axis of symmetry, a circular plate rotatably connected to said transmission member pivoting supported in said cavity so as to divide said cavity into two chambers connected with the delivery and return of an actuation fluid conveyed into said chambers through an inlet and an outlet opening of said box-like body, said plate being pivoting so that its opposite faces are in contact with the strip ento on said conical surfaces according to radial lines of tangency.
Ulteriori caratteristiche dell’invenzione risulteranno maggiormente dalla descrizione che segue di una forma di esecuzione illustrata a titolo puramente esemplificativo, non limitativo, negli uniti disegni in cui: Further features of the invention will become clearer from the following description of an embodiment illustrated purely by way of non-limiting example, in the accompanying drawings in which:
- la figura 1 è una vista prospettica del motore, - la figura 2 è una vista prospettica dopo la rimozione della parte periferica del corpo scatolare, - figure 1 is a perspective view of the engine, - figure 2 is a perspective view after removing the peripheral part of the box-shaped body,
- la figura 3 è una vista laterale del motore illustrato in figura 2, Figure 3 is a side view of the engine illustrated in Figure 2,
- la figura 4 è una vista in sezione secondo il piano IV-IV di figura 1, e - figure 4 is a section view according to the plane IV-IV of figure 1, and
- figure 5 is a section view according to the V-V plane of figure 1.
In the figures, the fluid-dynamic drive motor is indicated as a whole with 1. It is composed of a box-like body 2 with a prismatic shape with a square plan made by assembling a casing 3 between two plates 4, 5. Of course the box-like body can be of any shape and structure, for example cylindrical, and be equipped with attachments for its assembly or coupling to other members.
A. The casing 3 and the plates 4, 5 enclose a cavity 6 defined by a perimeter surface 7 in the shape of a spherical sector and by two conical surfaces 8, 9 defined by respective conical projections 10, 11 which project from the plates 4, 5 the against each other. The axes of the conical projections 10, 11 are coaxial with each other and with the perimeter surface 7 so that the cavity 6 has a symmetry of rotation along an axis A.
The upper plate 5 has a housing 12 coaxial to the axis A in which, by means of a bearing 13, a transmission member 14 equipped with a pin 15 which constitutes the output shaft of the motor 1 is rotatably supported. 14 is accessible from the cavity 6 through an opening 16 obtained at the end of the projection 11.
In the opposite ends of the conical protrusion 10 and of the end of the organ 14 opposite it, respective wedges 17, 17a in the shape of a spherical cap are obtained which are integrated with each other to form a seat to rotatably accommodate a spherical element 18.
A circular plate 19 is integrally joined to the spherical element 18 which, with the peripheral edge, is in sliding contact on the spherical surface 7. The opposite faces of the plate are also in sliding contact with one another with the conical surface 8 of the projection. 10 and the other with the conical surface 9 of the upper projection 11. The sliding contact is limited to two radial lines with respect to the axis A. From the geometries of the conical surfaces 8, 9, of the spherical surface 7 and of the opposite faces of the plate 19 results that the cavity 6 is divided into two chambers 20, 21 which communicate with the outside through two respective rectangular lateral openings 22, 23. In particular, the openings are connected with the delivery and respectively the return of a gaseous fluid and each is divided by the plate 19 into two overlapping inlet ports through which the gaseous fluid can simultaneously enter both chambers 20, 21 and exit from them. .
The plate 19 is rotatably coupled to the transmission member 11 by means of a pin 24 inserted diametrically in the element 18 and perpendicular to the plate 19. The pin 24 is fixed in its housing hole by means of a screw 25 which tightens it against a shoulder of the hole itself.
The end of the pin 24, opposite the screw 25, is inserted in a seat 26 which intersects obliquely the axis A of the transmission member 11. The pin 24 is rotatably carried in the seat 26 by means of a roller bearing 27 and on its end rests a small ball 28 on which a spring 29 acts which rests on a cap 30 screwed to close the seat 26.
The spring 29, acting on the pin 24, keeps the element 18 pressed against the surface of the wedge 16 in order to reduce the joint play of the plate.
The motor described is completed by a partition consisting of a wall 31 which separates the two walls 22, 23 from each other and extends inside the cavity 6 up to the axis A to which it is coplanar. The wall 31 is inserted with play in a radial slot 32 of the plate 19 which is therefore unable to rotate around the axis A. However, the slot 32 is dimensioned in such a way as to allow the plate 19 to oscillate moving in sliding contact along the dividing wall 31 and to vary the angle that the plate encloses with the wall.
The operation of the described engine will be more clear and evident from the following description.
By connecting an inlet opening 22 with the delivery of a pressurized fluid, for example compressed air, the inlet fluid flow is divided by the plate 19 into two streams which invade the superimposed chambers 20 and 21 and then flow out of the opening 23 after having traveled a path around the axis A. During this path the fluid pressure acts on the plate 19 in the sense that the current which has invaded the lower chamber 20 urges the plate 19 upwards, i.e. towards the upper plate 5, while the current which has invaded the upper chamber 21 acts on the plate 19 exerting a downward thrust on this.
Since the areas of maximum thrust on the plate are angularly offset around the axis A, the plate 19 is subjected to a tilting movement which involves a precession movement of the pin 24 following which the pin 24 describes a conical surface having a coaxial axis to axis A and vertex coinciding with sphere 18.
It should be noted that during the tilting the plate is prevented from rotating around the axis A by the dividing wall 31 along which it can slide thanks to the slot 32. It should also be noted that the opposite faces of the plate remain in contact with the respective surfaces, 8, 9 of the projections 10, 11 along radial tangency lines, while the edge of the plate slides on the spherical surface 7.
Ultimately, the tilting of the plate is accompanied by the expansion in rotation around the A axis of the chambers 20, 21 and therefore of the areas of the plate on which the maximum thrust exerted by the dynamic pressure of the fluid acts. In this way, the pin 24, due to its precession movement, can rotate the transmission member 14 and make available on the output shaft 15 a driving torque for the operation of a pump or other machine or to be able to use the motor described as an actuator.
As can be recognized, the described engine perfectly achieves the intended purposes. In particular, the motor offers the advantage of having a reversible operation and of presenting a simple and compact structure.
In the practical implementation of the invention, numerous modifications and variations are possible, all falling within the scope of the inventive concept. Thus, for example, the pin 24 can be rotatably supported in the spherical element 18 and integral with the transmission member 11. Furthermore, the thickness of the wall 31 can be differentiated so as to allow the edge of the slot 32 to remain in contact with it. during the tilting movement of the plate.
The shapes and dimensions of the invention can be any according to requirements.
