Abstract

Le zanzare dell'ordine ditteri (Nematoceri)- culex pipiens si cibano: 1) le femmine di sangue umano; i maschi di sostanze zuccherine succhiate, mangiate, cercate sui fiori. La femmina senza aver ingerito sangue umano non riescono a portare a maturazione le uova. Abitano nelle zone umide, acquitrinose, pozzanghere ecc. Basta impedire il cibo ai maschi o alle femmine perché non continui la specie, nonché la mascolinità, esportando i fiori i maschi non hanno di che nutrirsi e non fecondano le femmine. Possono anche avvelenarsi i fiori, ma ciò va a scapito delle api.
