Nello sci alpino sono utilizzati dei teli per unire due paletti, normalmente snodati, a formare una porta che identifica il passaggio obbligato degli atleti in determinati punti della pista. In alpine skiing, sheets are used to join two poles, normally articulated, to form a door that identifies the obligatory passage of the athletes in certain points of the track.

I teli sono fissati in diversi modi ai paletti in plastica piantati nella neve. Vengono ad esempio utilizzate delle clips in plastica, delle fettucce con velcro o dei semplici elastici. L’ultima versione di questa norma redatta nella primavera del 2010 ha aumentato i valori di sicurezza che questi teli devono avere; in pratica, pur mantenendo inalterate le necessità di resistenza allo sgancio in caso di normale passaggio dell’atleta, ha ridotto in modo considerevole la forza di sgancio in caso di incidente.
