DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
Annessa a domanda di brevetto per INVENZIONE INDUSTRIALE avente per titolo Attached to a patent application for INDUSTRIAL INVENTION having the title
The present invention relates to a wine glass. As is known, the shape and material of the glasses into which the wine is poured helps to enhance the properties of the wine itself, since the characteristics of the glass affect the visual, olfactory and gustatory perception of the consumer during the tasting.
There are specific glasses each dedicated to the consumption and tasting of a particular family of wines. For example, there are goblets suitable for serving white and rosé wines, goblets suitable for serving red wines, goblets suitable for serving sweet and fortified wines and goblets for sparkling wines. The glasses also differ also within each of the groups identified above.
Among the geometric characteristics of the glasses, the shape and dimensions of the cup-shaped body intended to contain the wine are fundamental. For example, the amplitude of the aforementioned body influences the greater or lesser oxygenation of the wine it contains and involves a different development of aromas and a different olfactory perception by the consumer. Furthermore, the shape of the opening of the cup allows the wine to be directed first on one portion of the tongue, for example more sensitive to sweetness, rather than on another, for example more sensitive to acidity.
In restaurants and also in the private / family environment it is therefore necessary today to have at least two types of wine glasses on the table for each diner (typically, a glass suitable for white wines and one suitable for red wines), the guale will choose the one most suitable for wine he intends to consume while the other will remain unused. This entails the need to have a double number of glasses compared to the number of covers served and consequently a considerable expense and the need to reserve a considerable space for the conservation of the glasses themselves.
In this context, the technical task underlying the present invention is to propose a wine glass which overcomes the drawbacks of the known art mentioned above.
In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a wine glass which alternatively allows the consumption of different wines, while still allowing them to be fully appreciated thanks to the characteristics of the glass.
It is also an object of the present invention to propose a wine glass which allows to contain the costs relating to table furnishings and the volumes of the spaces necessary for their conservation.
The specified technical task and the specified purposes are substantially achieved by a wine glass comprising the technical characteristics set out in one or more of the appended claims.
Ulteriori caratteristiche e vantaggi della presente invenzione appariranno maggiormente chiari dalla descrizione indicativa, e pertanto non limitativa, di una forma di realizzazione preferita ma non esclusiva di un calice da vino, come illustrato negli uniti disegni in cui: Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become clearer from the indicative, and therefore non-limiting, description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a wine glass, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:
- la figura 1 illustra in prospettiva un calice da vino in accordo con la presente invenzione; Figure 1 is a perspective view of a wine glass in accordance with the present invention;
- figure 4 shows a top view of the wine glass of the preceding figures.
The reference number 1 indicates in the attached figures a wine glass in accordance with the present invention.
The chalice 1 is preferably made of transparent crystal and comprises a containment body or cup 2 intended to contain the wine to be tasted. The cup 2 is constrained to a stem 3 provided with a base 4 which allows it to rest on a plane. In particular, the stem 3 has a first end 3a constrained to the base 4 and a second end 3b opposite the first 3a and connected to the cup 2 at a bottom of the cup 2. The cup 1 extends along a longitudinal axis "X-X "(Figure 3) along which usually the stem 3 also extends. The cup 2 has an opening 5 which is located on the opposite side with respect to the stem 3 and is surrounded by an edge 6. The cup 2 develops from the second end 3b of the shank 3 around the longitudinal axis "X-X" and ends with the aforementioned edge 6. Preferably, according to what is illustrated, the edge 6 lies in a single plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis "X-X".
Advantageously, the cup 2 consists of two portions 7, 8 mutually joined at a plane "P" parallel to, preferably containing, the longitudinal axis "X-X". Each of the two portions 7, 8 therefore extends partially around the aforementioned longitudinal axis "X-X", preferably for an arc of about 180 °. In alternative embodiments, the extensions of the aforesaid arcs and also the number of portions can be different.
The first portion 7 and the second portion 8 have different shapes from each other. The first portion 7 is suitable for tasting a first type of wine. The second portion 8 is suitable for tasting a second type of wine, different from the first. By shape suitable for tasting a wine we mean a shape capable of enhancing the organoleptic characteristics of that wine.
Preferably, the first portion 7 and the second portion 8 are mutually joined in correspondence with the axial plane "P", so that the first portion 7 develops continuously from the second portion 8.
Advantageously (Figure 3), the first portion 7 has a barrel shape with an internal surface 9 which is substantially only concave. More in detail, the internal surface 9 has a concave belly 10 close to the stem 3 and extends towards the edge 6 assuming a truncated cone shape 11 which ends at this edge 6. The truncated cone shape converges from the stem 3 towards the opening 5 or, in other words, diverges from the edge 6 towards the stem 3. This shape allows the wine to be directed initially towards the back of the mouth. The first portion 7 is preferably suitable for the consumption and tasting of red wines.
The second portion 8 has a concave-convex internal surface 12. More in detail, the internal surface 12 has a concave belly 13 close to the stem 3 and extends towards the edge 6 assuming a convex shape 14, which ends with a truncated cone shape 15 at this edge 6. The second portion 8 therefore has a tulip shape. The truncated cone shape 15 of the second portion 8 diverges from the stem 3 towards the opening 5 or, in other words, converges from the edge 6 towards the stem 3. This shape 15 allows to direct the wine mainly towards the tip of the tongue, more sensitive to sweetness, and therefore to the sides of the tongue, more sensitive to acidity. The second portion 8 is preferably suitable for the consumption and tasting of white wines.
Preferably, the concave belly 10 of the first portion 7 and the concave belly 13 of the second portion 8 have the same curvature and are radially symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis "X-X".
The convex shape 14 of the internal surface 12 of the second portion 8 degrades as it approaches the axial plane "P", so as to join without discontinuity, or without edges, to the first portion 7.
The present invention achieves the proposed aims and has undoubted advantages.
In fact, the wine glass according to the present invention can be used as an alternative for the consumption of different wines (for example white and red wines), drinking from the portion most suitable for the chosen wine, that is able to enhance in the most correct way the peculiarities of such wine.
It follows that the number of glasses per diner can be reduced to just one, saving in terms of tableware costs, in terms of space occupied on the table and in terms of space inside the furniture necessary for storing the glasses.
