Il trovato, denominato Sanycar, è una novità nell’ambito della gestione di attrezzature di uso collettivo nei luoghi a grande affollamento (supermercati, centri commerciali, aeroporti, stazioni ferroviarie, stazioni marittime, strutture sanitarie, scuole, ecc); esso è predisposto per la sanificazione di carrelli di trasporto, nonché di attrezzature mediche di ospedali, quali trespoli, sedie a rotelle, tavoli medicali, carrelli per pulizie, o attrezzature di trasporto in servizi di ristorazione, mense e strutture scolastiche, ecc. ed in generale tutti i luoghi ad alta frequentazione di pubblico o ad alto rischio igienico e dove l’utente o l’operatore deve adoperare carrelli o attrezzature di uso collettivo, ricettacolo di batteri e quindi fonte di pericolo igienico-sanitario. Il Sanycar consente invece di ottenere una sterilizzazione completa dell’attrezzatura mediante l’utilizzo di una lampada a raggi ultravioletti che agisce all’interno di una cabina. L’utente o l’operatore inserisce l’attrezzatura (carrello, sedia a rotelle, tavolo su ruote, etc) nella cabina ed aziona l’apparecchiatura mediante un semplice pannello di controllo. L’utente nel frattempo può provvedere a detergere le proprie mani, grazie ad un apposito dispenser di sapone germicida azionato da sensore a fotocellula, mentre un monitor lo informa sul funzionamento del dispositivo e sul completamento del ciclo di sterilizzazione.
