Description
DECRIZIONE a corredo di una domanda di brevetto per invenzione industriale avente per titolo : "DISPOSI-TIVO "USA E GETTA" PER IL RECUPERO DI RESIDUI LI-QUIDI" DESCRIPTION accompanying a patent application for industrial invention entitled: "DISPOSABLE" DISPOSABLE "FOR THE RECOVERY OF LIQUID RESIDUES"
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
The invention refers to a "disposable" device for the recovery of liquid residues, intended in particular to aspirate and collect the serous residues to drain produced in a patient during a surgical operation or during the post-operative period. .
? ' A "disposable" recovery device of the type specified above is known in the art, which? mainly consisting of a relatively rigid lid on the lower face of which a pocket made of soft material is hermetically joined by welding. The aforesaid lid has an entrance for the residues which communicates with the said pocket and? intended to be connected, through a flexible tube, to the drainage probe introduced into the patient's body to aspirate the serous residues. An additional intake duct, also leading into the pocket of soft material,? connected to a source capable of producing a sufficient depression to transfer the serous residues from the probe to the aforementioned pocket. The whole described above? intended to be replaced whenever the pocket? full. The cover ? placed on a vase or similar rigid container during its use. The serous residues are thus collected in the soft pocket and not in the jar which, in this way, does not have to be cleaned and sterilized after each use. There?' however, involves the necessity? to balance the depression upstream and downstream of the soft pocket which, otherwise, would curl up on itself and therefore could not collect the serous residues. It has been proposed to produce a hole on the side of the vessel wall to be able to connect the suction duct. Such a solution, while solving the technical problem, would however involve the necessity? to replace all the vessels available to the unit? hospital.
The invention in question allows the above drawback to be overcome.
Such purpose? achieved by making a "disposable" device for recovering liquid residues, for medical use, of the type having a relatively rigid lid which:? equipped with an entrance for the said organic residues, it is also connected to a suction duct intended to be connected to a source producing a depression and? finally hermetically connected to a pocket in soft material which is arranged under the lower face of said lid, an edge being provided in this face capable of applying, during use of the device, to the edge of a vase or similar rigid container; said device being characterized in that the relative lid is provided with an additional suction duct, internal with respect to the lateral edge and opening from the lower face of the same out of the underlying soft pocket.
According to the practical realization considered more? suitably, the said two suction ducts are connected to each other in the structure of the aforementioned cover in order to be connected to the same vacuum producing source.
Will the invention come? pi? detailed and the further advantages of the same will appear more? evident in the following description of a device according to the invention, provided by way of non-limiting example and referring to the attached drawing tables in which:
la figura 1 ? la vista sezionata ed in elevazione del dispositivo di recupero per liquidi organici predisposto per l'uso; figure 1? the sectional and elevation view of the recovery device for organic liquids prepared for use;
Quest'ultimo ? conformato genericamente a disco. Referring to the aforementioned drawing tables, the recovery device for organic liquids 11, made according to the invention,? composed of a relatively rigid lid 12 in plastic material produced by fusion and of a soft pocket, also in plastic material, which is hermetically connected by welding 14 to the lower face 15 of said lid. The latter ? generically shaped like a disc. The aforementioned set? intended to be applied, during its use, to the rim of a jar 16 or of a similar rigid container, preferably also made of plastic material. For this purpose, the lower face 15 of the lid comprises an annular edge 18 defining a groove of dimensions and shape suitable for allowing the same to be engaged on the rim of the vessel. The aforementioned commitment? such that it is also substantially hermetic. An inlet 20, shaped like a beak and acting as a fitting, is produced on said lid. Such an entrance? intended to be connected, through a flexible tube, to a probe or similar suction means introduced into the patient's body or used by a surgeon during an operation. The aforesaid inlet opens into the pocket 13. Furthermore, a suction duct 22 is radially produced on the surface of the lid and flows, through a hole 23 normally arranged with respect to it, into the pocket 13. This suction duct? intended to be connected to a source (not shown) producing a depression which generates a vacuum in the pocket 13 sufficient to allow the suction of the organic residues which have collected in the latter. The intake duct, and more? precisely the hole 23 communicates with the inside of the pocket 13 through a safety mechanism 25 forming a float shutter. This mechanism is composed of a float 26 sliding freely on a fixed axis 27 arranged in axial correspondence with the hole 23. The float carries an upper gasket 28 which allows the hole 23 to be blocked when the quantity? of recovered organic residues reaches a predetermined level. The suction is stopped at that precise moment and the recovery device is replaced.
According to an important feature of the invention, the lid is provided with an additional suction duct 29 arranged internally with respect to said annular edge 18 and opening, from said lower face 15, into the vessel 16 outside the said soft pocket 13. The Figure 2 illustrates the fact that the inner limit of the annular edge 18? spaced with respect to the perimeter of connection, constituted by the weld 14, of the pocket 13 with the internal face of the lid 12. It is in the space thus defined that the additional intake duct 29 flows, which is therefore in communication with the interior of the vessel 16 during the use of the device. In fact, in the example illustrated, the two aforementioned intake ducts are connected to each other since said additional intake duct? defined starting from the duct 22 and communicates with the interior of the vessel 16 flowing into an area comprised between the two limits defined previously, that is to say? between said annular edge 18 and the connecting perimeter generated by welding 14.
A depression can? therefore it can be made inside the jar 16 keeping the pocket 13 in contact with the internal walls of the said jug.
