Abstract
Process for the inerting of sludges and solid wastes containing sulphates and heavy metals, which comprises a stage of neutralisation and a stage of anaerobic reduction of the sulphate ion. A combination of sulphate- reducing bacteria and lactobacilli, with whey as the source of carbon and nitrogen, is used.
