Un catalizzatore attivo nella preparazione di copolimeri alternati delle olefine con ossido di carbonio (CO) è costituito da:a) un sale di un metallo del gruppo IB del sistema periodico,b) un legante bidentato contenente due atomi di azoto o di fosforo in grado di legarsi all'atomo del metallo mediante legami dativi,c) un acido di Lewis,d) facoltativamente un ossidante.Viene descritta la preparazione del catalizzatore ed il suo impiego nella copolimerizzazione alternata dell'etilene (C2) e/o di altre olefine con l'ossido di carboni.
