Abstract
L'invenzione riguarda un cannone elettronico per fornire elettroni raggruppati in impulsi brevi con frequenza di ripetizione predeterminata fo.Il cannone comprende un catodo (K), una griglia (G) ed un anodo (A) fra i quali le tensioni applicate sono tensioni a radiofrequenza. Il catodo è disposto sul conduttore centrale (2) di una cavità coassiale (1), di fronte alla griglia (G) che chiude questa cavità. La cavità (1) è chiusa all'altra estremità da un corto circuito (3) e comprende una derivazione coassiale (4) in modo da risonare a due frequenze F1 e F2 multiple rispetto a fo il cui battimento induce una tensione griglia-catodo a radiofrequenza. La griglia (G) chiude un'altra cavità coassiale (10) il cui conduttore centrale (11) è cavo e la cui estremità affacciata alla griglia costituisce l'anodo. La cavità (10) è eccitata e risuona ad una frequenza Fo multipla rispetto a fo, il che induce una tensione anodo-griglia a radiofrequenza.Una scelta adeguata delle frequenze Fo, F1, F2 permette di ottenere pacchetti di elettroni di durata molto breve.(Figura 1)
