The invention concerns a cutting tool for sawing machines with a cutting chain for quarrying of slate, marble, granite and rock minerals in general, comprising a support element 1 of the blade attachable to the tool- carrier links 2 of the chain. To obtain better cutting action in connection with better strength and durability characteristics of the tool, the invention prescribes a cutting tool provided with at least one blade that consists of a plate 10 of suitable thickness, plate 10 being arranged with its parallel faces in the direction of running of the chain and the teeth 12 of said blade being made on the narrow sides of plate 10 and with a width corresponding to the thickness of said plate 10.
