Abstract

This invention refers to a thermometer used to continuously measure the temperature of molten metal that consists of a thermal coupling, compensator conductor wires to connect the thermal coupling to the intake side of a measuring device or similar, a ceramic tube or similar material holding a junction used to measure the temperature of the thermal coupling that can be immersed in molten metal, a box for the terminals installed at the upper end of the tube, and blocking components installed in the box for the terminals used to block an end of the thermal coupling and an end of each of the compensator conductor wires. The thermometer also includes a component that is near one of the block components to measure the temperature and is connected to instrumentation on the outside of the thermometer. This invention makes it possible to always accurately determine the temperature of molten metal by observing the temperature of a compensator junction between and end of the thermal coupling's conductor wires and the end of one of the compensator conductor wires.
