Abstract

The inversed ribbon cable connector includes auto shell with a hollow section which forms a seating for a flat ribbon cable. A second hollow section receives the connector body and lies adjacent and perpendicular to the first. A peripheral wall surrounds these hollow sections. A second shell is of similar plan to the first and is designed to be fastned to the first by means of projecting tabs on one shell engaging notches on the other. The connector has sockets on its front surface, and alignment notches in its sides. The connector has contacts extending to varying lengths from its back to engage the conductors of the ribbon cable.
