Abstract

The current control is incorporated in a system comprising a low voltage electric supply, a distribution bus to multiple loads, and a supervisory circuit. The control comprises a series of current controllers each connected to a corresp. supply and a second series of controllers each connected between a corresp. controller and the distribution bus. In the event of a fault on one of the loads the corresp. controller limits the change in current to a predetermined level lev.for a set interval of time, while the second controller accepts a signal from the corresp. one to disconnect the load from the distribution bus. The first controller is an iron cored reactance capable of supporting high flux densities and the second controller is a circuit breaker with its trip coil operated by the flux of the reactor.
