Abstract

The system produces mechanical energy from heat sources of different temperatures. It has a number of expansion units (5, 6, 7) incorporated in different circuits (la, lb, lc) and accommodating a working fluid. The latter absorbs heat energy, which is converted into mechanical energy in the expansion units. Each circuit incorporates a heat exchangers (2, 3, 4) for heat exchange wth one of the respective sources, while the respective expansion unit is mounted at the exchanger outlet. Upstream of the heat exchanger and downstream of the expansion unit is a condenser for the workin fluid, which is circulated by one or more feed pumps (9, 10). The circuits are arranged in pairs, having a section in common in which one at least of the expansion units and also the condenser are incorporated.
