Abstract
Polypeptides of formula R1-R2-R3 (I) and their salts are new. In (I), R1 is D-Ser-Arg, Ser-Arg or Arg, R2 is Tyr-Gly-Lys-Pro-Val-Gly-Lys-Lys, Ala-Tyr-Pro-Thr-Pro-Ala-Arg-Ser-Lys, Tyr-Gly-Lys-Pro-Val-Gly-Lys-Lys-Lys, Tyr-Gly-Lys-Pro-Val-Arg-Ser-Lys. Tyr-Gly-Pro, Tyr-Gly-Pro-Val-Gly, Val-Leu-Pro, Val-Leu-VAl-Gly, Ala-Tyr-Pro, Leu-Pro-Gly-Pro, Val-Leu-Gln-Gly, Ala-Tyr, Pro-Arg-Leu-Pro-Gly, Ala-Tyr-Pro-Arg-Val-Leu-Gln-Gly or Ala-Tyr-Pro-Arg-Val-Leu-Pro, R3 is Val-NH2, Val, Lys-NH2, Lys, Thr, Thr-NH2M Ser, Ser-NH2, Pro or Pro-NH2. (I) block the action of luteinising hormone and human chorionic gonadotropin and are thus useful for preventing or terminating pregnancy, e.g. as vaccines.
