Abstract

The reinforcing stud joint consists of an internally threaded collar which receives the end sections of two bars. The latter has chamfered ends with flattened faces, these contacting before the bars are tightened to take up the tolerance between the threads. The collar has an internal central unthreaded portion, the sum of the lengths of the chamfered ends being greater than the length of the collar unthreaded portion. The bars pref. have a thread which makes full use of the bar core dia.
