Abstract

An Fe-based, primary, ultrafine crystalline alloy ribbon having a composition represented by the general formula of Fe loo,.,.,,.bNi,CuYNbZsiaBb, wherein x, y, z, a and b are numbers (atomic %) meeting the conditions of 4 5 x 5 5 6,O.l 5 y 5 2,O.l < z 5 4,7 < a < 18, and 4 5 b 5 12; an as-cast structure in which fine crystal grains having a grain size distribution of 300 nm or less are dispersed in a proportion of more than 0% and 7% or less by volume in an amorphous matrix; and a thickness of 13-23 pm.
