1500667 Sulphonic acid catalyst composition IMI (TAMI) INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT 30 July 1976 [7 Aug 1975] 31950/76 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Solid acid catalysts suitable for the heterogeneous catalysis of vapour phase reactions comprise a solid carrier (e.g. silica) and at least one substance selected from (a) a carboxymethanesulphonic acid, (b) a product resulting from the thermal treatment of carboxymethanesulphonic acid or a solid carrier at a temperature of 170-330‹C and (c) a sulphonic acid having at least two sulphonic groups per molecule. Such catalysts have been in part described in Specifications 1447707 and 1446964.
