Claims (6)
1.- 59 - Claims: 1. An audio decoding method, comprising: receiving an encoded bitstream, the encoded bitstream including encoded input audio data and processing state metadata including a dynamic range control gain value and a loudness value; decoding the encoded input audio data to obtain decoded audio data; obtaining the dynamic range control gain value from the processing state metadata; normalizing dynamic range of said decoded audio data according to the dynamic range control gain value to obtain modified decoded audio data; receiving signaling data indicating whether loudness processing should be performed on the modified decoded audio data; and when said signaling data indicates that loudness processing should be performed on the modified decoded audio data: obtaining the loudness value from the processing state metadata; and normalizing loudness of said modified decoded audio data according to the loudness value, to provide output audio data.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said loudness value is computed on dialogue portions of the audio data.
3. An audio decoding system, comprising: a decoder configured to: receive an encoded bitstream, the encoded bitstream including encoded input audio data and processing state metadata including a dynamic range control gain value and a loudness value, decode said encoded input audio data to obtain decoded audio data; and a post-processing unit configured to: obtain the dynamic range control gain value from the processing state metadata; normalize dynamic range of said decoded audio data according to the dynamic range control gain value to obtain modified decoded audio data; - 60 - receive signaling data indicating whether loudness processing should be performed on the modified decoded audio data, and when said signaling data indicates that loudness processing should be performed on the modified decoded audio data: obtain the loudness value from the processing state metadata; normalize loudness of said modified decoded audio data according to the loudness value, to provide output audio data.
4. The system according to claim 3, wherein said loudness value is computed on dialogue portions of the audio data.
5. A computer program product comprising executable instructions for performing the method of claim 1 or claim 2 when executed on a computer.
6. A storage medium comprising a software program adapted for execution on a processor and for performing the method of claim 1 or claim 2 when carried out on a computing device.
