Description

AN INTERACTIVE REHABILITATION ONLINE CENTER FIELD OF THE INVENTION The current invention is in the field of providing treatment to patients. More specifically, it relates to the field of customized treatment and monitoring patient compliance.
BACKGROUND In recent years, due to decrease in government funding and increase in number of patients, the load on rehabilitation centers has increased significantly. The predictions are that in five years only critical cases will be fully treated in the funded centers. The rest of the patients will be directed to the private sector or will be partially treated.
One of the main reasons for this critical situation is that rehabilitation requires significant amount of resources. A patient needs to be diagnosed by a doctor, and then transferred for treatment with a care giver which assigns him with a personal training program. Once the program is assigned, a feedback system, usually handled by the care giver, is executed. Transferring some of these elements to an automatic system, will reduce the load on the rehabilitation centers.
US patent application US2007/0033068 (refers hereinafter as 068'), discloses a system and method for automatically detect patient performance of exercises. However, 068' does not produce an automatic training program according to medical diagnosis, in addition, it does not discloses building a training program by consulting with a variety of experts.
US patent application US 2007/0136093 (refers hereinafter as 093'), reveals a system and method for health and wellness management. The method targets high risk patients and builds a personal training program for them. At a later stage feedback of progress is given to the system. However, 093' does not reveal receiving medical diagnosis for a specific patient, it also does not reveal providing a personal program produced by brain storming of several experts.
There is therefore a long unmet need for a system and method, which will provide expert personal training program with minimal intervention of workers time, and will be able to feedback the patient in an efficient manner.

The training editor 304 is operated by a therapist 305, at this stage, the therapist may receive the data in form of plurality of exercises suitable to the patient diagnosis, from which the therapist 305 will select a number of specific exercises for the patient training.
This operation may be imposed on one patient, or on several patients. The selection of the specific exercises for the patient is done by a plurality of experts, that is, in crowdsourcing manner. Once the training program 306 is formed, it is being sent to the patient. The patient may use the system to share his program and his progress with other patient and receive and provide support among system users.
The CRM 103 may provide at this stage, reminders for the client, and keep track of patient compliance and progress. The patient may use the system to provide feedback 307 regarding the training program 306 and receive a modified program according to his feedback 307.
Reference is now made again to Fig. 3, where a patient profile 308 is constructed on CRM 103 from the patient data analysis.
Reference is now made to Fig. 4, illustrating the CRM 103 located on a cloud service 401. The cloud service 401 is connected to users data base 402, video (that is, exercises for training) data base 403 and program data base 404. The cloud service provides plurality of services to both the patients and the therapists, among these services: video conference service, video upload/synchronization, user training program update/synchronize, user registration/authentication, video streaming hosting, etc.
In Fig. 4, the patient 405 may use the system by different method such as: IOS/android/browser application. The same programs may be used by the therapist 406. The clinic 407 may be comprised by a clinic server connected to training station (the patient can perform the training either at home or at the clinic).
Reference is now made to Fig. 5, which shows in a non-limiting manner yet another aspect of the current invention, where user data base (patients and therapists) 402, exercises/trainings data base 403, and user training programs data base 404 are in a cloud service. These data bases are in communication with (i) patients 405 (which may use the system by different method such as: IOS/android/browser application); (ii) therapists 406 (which may use the system by different method such as: IOS/android/browser application); and (iii) training station 407. The training station includes inter allia, a monitor for displaying exercises, in communication with a computer and an ear phone, through the ear phone, instruction can be given for example to the patient.
Reference is now made to Fig. 6 illustrating a training center 601, in the training center 601 patients 405 are training together, each of them according to their own training program presented on a screen 602.
In some embodiments of the current invention, after selecting exercises for the patients, there is another filtering option where the person in charge can select from predetermined parameters, a parameter from which the selected exercises will be filtered. These parameters may be selected for example from a group consisting of: patient safety, aerobic, muscle strength, muscle tones, balance disruption, core muscles.
That is, for example, certain exercises that were chosen will be removed from the list due to safety parameters automatically set.
EXAMPLE 1 A patient provides doctor diagnosis of back aches to an application. The application then selects a number of videos of training exercises; the application sends these selected videos to a physiotherapist who chooses a small number of exercises using crowdsourcing of physiotherapists and perhaps, other experts with different medical background. The selected videos are then combined into a single video which shows the selected exercises in a row. The system is also adapted to create more than one video, therefore giving the patient a full treatment program.
The final video is sent to a patient, who can do the exercises at home and send using the application feedback about his training.
EXAMPLE 2 A patient provides doctor diagnosis of muscle aches to an application. The application using crowdsourcing method sends the patient treatment exercises. These exercises are performed at a clinic (or any other location) which is equipped with detection devices. The devices are detecting the patient movements and report back to the application for registering and improving patient treatment.
EXAMPLE 3 A patient provides doctor diagnosis of muscle aches to an application. The application using crowdsourcing method sends the patient treatment exercises. The patient is connected to a social network via the application and can share his treatment routine with other patients. This social network provides a supportive environment for the patient, and will increase patient's compliance for the treatment.
