Description
SHAVING DEVICE The present invention relates to a wet shaving device and more particularly to a razor and razor head and handle.
There are known a number of safety razors which comprise a razor head and a handle. Some of the known razors are 'One piece" disposable units to be used several times until the cutting edge becomes dull. There are also known models where the razor comprises a handle while only the razor blade assembly is disposable when the cutting edge becomes dull.
Continuing efforts are being made to improve the shaving characteristics of these razors. A factor in shaving efficiency and effectiveness is the orientation of the active components of the shaving system relative to the skin. So far all efforts have been made in respect of the shaving head, in the razor's assembly, in the razors or razor blade, however, very little has been made in respect of the handle of the razor, and in respect of a more convenient manner of using the razor.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a razor of novel construction where a different approach in respect of the shaving proper has been made.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a shaver which i n addi ti on to the exi sti ng di sposabl e/ inul ti use features woul d resul t i n better and faster shavi ng .
It is yet a further object of the present invention to provide a razor which would be more convenient to use.
According to the invention there is provided a novel shaving device which comprises two razor assembly heads facing each other or being mounted back to back and being connected in a rigid or flexible or pivotal manner to the handle .
In the preferred embodiment the handle of the novel razor is in line with the razor blade and not perpendicular thereto.
The invention will now be described with reference to the annexed drawings in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the shaving Device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is an embodiment of the device.
Fig. 3, 4 and 5 are side views of a difference embodiment of the shaving device.
Fig. 6 and 7 are side view of "back to back11 embodiment.
Turning first to Fig. 1 the novel shaving device is composed of two main parts, a handle 1 and a razor assembly 2.
In the present embodiment the razor assembly is fixedly connected to the handle.
As can be seen the razor assembly as a whole comprises two assemblies 4 and 5 the blades thereof facing each other .
The unique structure of the device enables a to an fro -movement in the direction of arrow "X".
In Fig. 2 there is depicted a shaver having a long traditional handle 1 however the handle is in co-direction to the razor blades and not perpendicular thereto. A device of this kind would be very convenient for females to use for removing hair from their legs.
The connection 7 between the handle and the razor assembly could be flexible or pivotal to enable better and convenient use.
Fig. 3 is a side view which demonstrates the engagement of the razors with the skin "S".
In Fig. 4 the two assemblies 4 and 5 are pivotally connected to the handle at 9 which would give an improved skin contact.
In the embodiment depicted in Fig. 5 the connection between the two razor assemblies and the handle is a flexible springy connection.
Figs. 6 and 7 illustrate side view of a razor according to the invention where the two assemblies are mounted in a "back to back" manner, namely the blades pointing outwardly.
