Abstract

The casing structure of telecommunications equipment is designed in such a manner that the end-user can carry out simple reequipment of assemblies himself, in that the side walls have hooks and lugs as retaining elements. Components whose mass is large, such as the power supply assembly, are supported on threaded columns of the base metal sheet.

Description

Housing construction for telecommunications systems The invention relates to a housing construction for telecommunications systems for receiving the modules of the switching device, of the power supply and also further retrofittable modules, which is composed of a base tub and of a hood.
Housings for telecommunications systems which comprise a bottom plate and a hood are known from DE 3,737,058 Cl. Constructions of this type, in which the system modules are arranged in a plurality of layers above one another and are secured on the bottom plate by spacer columns, their screw bases and plate lugs, are suitable for assembly by trained, skilled personnel at the end user since intervention is necessary for connecting the terminals.
The object of the invention was to provide a housing construction which permits simple assembly, the connection of the terminals and a retrofitting of modules for further features by the end user himself.
This object is achieved by the invention as is set out in the characterising part of the first patent claim. The subclaims describe further advantageous developments.
The invention is described in greater detail below with reference to a drawing consisting of four figures, in which: Fig. 1 shows a side view of the telecommunications system, Fig. 2 shows the view of the system with the hood removed, Fig.3 shows a section along the line A-A through the adaptation module, and Fig.4 shows a perspective representation of the telecommunications system.
Identical forms have the same reference numerals in all figures.
The housing for a telecommunications system is composed of a right-angled bottom plate 10, the three surrounding edges of which are angled by 90*, forming the side walls 11, 12, 13 of the base tub. The fourth edge, which is the bottom edge in the wall mounting, of the bottom plate has plate cutouts 14, 15, 16 which are angled in part and which serve for securing cables and also for wall fastening. In this arrangement, the plate cutouts 14 are provided for strain relief, the plate cutouts 15 are provided for fastening system cables and the plate cutouts 16 are provided for fastening the housing to a wall, for example by means of screws.
At the bottom edge, hooks 17 are formed out of the bottom plate 10 and are bent off at a right angle. The hooks 17 serve in conjunction with two short 21 and two longer threaded columns 22 for securing the switching module 20. The switching module 20 is protected from damage by a cover 23. The cover 23 is hung into recesses in the rear side wall 12, is supported by lateral webs 18 and is fastened by means of sheet metal screws 19 to pierced lugs of the side walls 11 and 13. The power supply module 30 is supported on the bottom plate 10 by the short threaded columns 21 and the mains transformer is fastened to the bottom plate 10 via the longer threaded columns 22.
In order to permit an expansion of the system, for example a retrofitting of a telecontrol device, in a simple manner by the end user, the side walls 11, 13 are provided with hooks 41 which lie one behind the other and have lugs 42 arranged between them. The retrofittable module 40 is composed of a U-shaped bottom plate 43, in which the circuit board 44, e.g. for the signalling adaptation, is pushed into guide rails 46 arranged on the inner walls. The transformer for the power supply present on the circuit board 44 is supported on the U-shaped bottom plate 43 by means of threaded columns 45. As a result of the screwing of the threaded columns 45 to the bottom plate 43, the circuit board 44 is additionally fixed in its position. The module 40 is positively connected to the bottom plate 10 of the telecommunications system by means of hooking, and a safeguard against sliding out is ensured by the bending-over of the lugs 42.
The electrical connection between retrofittable module 40 and the switching module 20, and also the power supply module 30, is produced by plugging in a cable connector 47.
A hood 50 is supported by means of webs 51 on its inner walls on the side walls 11, 12, 13 of the base tub and is fastened to the bottom plate 10 by means of a
