Abstract

The cylinder (3) containing opposed pistons (4) rests on a pair of support members (5) which are fastened to a sump (2). The support members (5) rotatably support rocker shafts (15) and a crank shaft (10). Connecting rods (11 and 12 Fig. 3) deliver drive from the pistons (4) through the rocker arms (14) to the crank shaft (10).
