Abstract
1431627 Telephone sets NORTHERN ELECTRIC CO Ltd 11 April 1974 [16 April 1973] 16360/74 Heading H4J In a telephone set having a housing 11, 12, with an aperture 19 which is at least partly covered by a cover 18 the cover is secured to the housing by a latch projection 37 which engages a corresponding portion on the housing, the latch being released to remove the cover by insertion of a tool through hole 41 in the housing to engage and deflect the latch projection. As described the aperture 19 in the housing is suitably shaped to receive either a rotary dial mechanism or push button number sender and alternative covers 18 are available to accommodate the particular number sender fitted. The opposite edge of the cover to the latch has hooks 30 which pass through an aperture 32 in the housing and engage a rib 33 on the housing, forming a hinge member. As shown the housing is in two parts with the cover engaging with the top part but it is suggested it might engage with the lower part to hold the housing parts together. The covers can be coloured or surface finished to contrast with the housing.
