Abstract

1304803 Low foam detergent composition PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 20 May 1971 [20 May 1970] 16015/71 Heading C5D A detergent composition comprises (a) 2- 30% of a non-cationic surface active agent, (b) 0À05-5% of a suds controlling agent selected from finely divided silenated silica, silicones and finely divided by dropholic polymers of ethylene, fluoroethylene, butylene, isobutylene and styrene and (c) 0À5-8% of either (i) a homopolymer of methyl vinyl either, ethyl vinyl ether, vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate or vinyl pyrrolidone or a copolymer of 2 or more of these monomers having a molecular weight of 5,000- 50,000 or (ii) a copolymer of maleric anhydride and ethylene, styrene or a C 1-4 alkyl vinyl ether having a molecular weight of 10,000-300,000 or a water-soluble alkali metal salt thereof or (iii) a polyethylene glycol of molecular weight 1,000- 50,000. The composition may also include a builder and a peroxy compound. Ingredients specified include: surface active agents sodium C 11À8 alkyl benzene sulphonate, tallow fatty alcohol Sulphate (sodium Salt), Sodium coconut oil fatty alcohol sulphate, 3-(C 14À 8 alkyl dimethyl ammonio)-propane-1-sulphonate, 3-(C 14À8 alkyl dimethyl ammonio)-2-hydroxypropane-1- sulphonate, 3 - (N,N-dimethyl - N - tetradecylammonio) - propane-1-phosphate, tallow alcohol ethylene oxide adduct, stearyl dimethylamine oxide, laruyl-dhosphine oxide; suds controlling agents: silanated silica, polydimethyl siloxane, polymethyl pheuyl siloxane, component (c): sodinm salt of vinyl acetate-vinyl pyrrolidone copolymer, sodium salt of maleic anhydride-styrene copolymer, sodium salt of maleio anhydridevinyl methyl ether copolymer, sodium salt of maleic anhydride-vinyl butyl ether copolymer, builders: trisodium ethylene-1-hydroxy -1,1- diphosphonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, chlorinated trisodium phosphate, sodium chloride, sodium silicate, sodium sulphate, trisodium nitrilo triacetate, sodium ethylene diamine tetra-acetate, peroxy-compounds: sodium perborate, other ingredients: hydrogenated fatty acids, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium toluene sulphonate, monoethanolamine, silica, amylase and protease enzymes, brighteners, dyes, perfumes and water.
