Abstract

The method of knitting two-ply segments extending coursewise of a rib fabric on a knitting machine of the type having two sets of needles, for example cylinder and dial needles, a plurality of feeds, and means at a selected feed for guiding the yarn forming each ply into the path of the hooks of the needles on which it is being knit and into the hook-opposite side of the other set of needles. The feeding of the yarns to their respective sets of needles is carried on at a single yarn feed without reliance on any special cams or delayed timing. [US3672186A]
