Abstract

After research and experimentation I concluded in constructing this olive thresher, which I personally consider to be the best, because it offers a high degree of safety to the farmer, is relatively small, easy to handle having low construction and maintenance costs. Its greatest advantage, compared to existing machines, is that it does not destroy the sprouts of the olive tree and so does not cause production decreases for the next farming period. The machine does not knock off leaves, an important factor for the biological cycle of the tree. The olive threshing machine has a rotary aluminium alloy base (1) for protection of its flexible shaft and adaptation of the motor depending on the requirements of the work area. The motor (2) can be found on the market in many types and shapes and is chosen depending on the criteria of the manufacturer. The epicyclical reduction gear (3) is old technology, but, by adaptation of a SLIDING SYSTEM, becomes the most contemporary. This system allows the motor to produce work without transferring motion, where this motion exceeds safety limits of the flexible shaft. The motion transfer mechanism (4) is very flexible, engaged and disengaged with ease and is very light, providing a high degree of safety to the user. The threshing rod (5) is composed of a special ultra light weight and highly resistant aluminium alloy having a very good system for engaging and disengaging the flexible axle and the threshing head. This threshing head (6) is the most outstanding part of the machine, requiring far less power compared to existing systems and is very light and efficient. It is based on the principles of centrifugal force and inertial acceleration of bodies.
