Abstract

Στην παρούσα ευρεσιτεχνία περιγράφεται ένα οπτικό σύστημα και μια μέθοδος οπτικής σύζευξης μιας ενσωματωμένης οπτικής ίνας σε εξωτερικό υποδοχέα που περιλαμβάνει κυματοδηγό. Ένα τέτοιο οπτικό σύστημα μπορεί να είναι μια οπτική ίνα ενσωματωμένη εντός σύνθετου υλικού που εξέρχεται αυτού από το εκτεθειμένο άκρο του, όπως στην περίπτωση ενός κυλινδρικού άξονα. Η οπτική ίνα μπορεί να διέρχεται όλου του μήκους του σύνθετου υλικού, ενώ και τα δύο άκρατου άξονα υφίστανται λείανση οπτικού επιπέδου. Η μία πλευρά χρησιμοποιείται ως είσοδος ορατού φωτός και στην άλλη πλευρά προσαρμόζεται μια οπτική κατασκευή που περιλαμβάνει οπτική ίνα εντός ειδικού προσαρμογέα. Ο προσαρμογέας περιλαμβάνει συστοιχίες μικροφακών των οποίων ο ρόλος είναι η μετάδοση, ομογενοποίηση και ευθυγράμμιση του φωτός από και προς την ενσωματωμένη οπτική ίνα με τις ελάχιστες δυνατές απώλειες και τις ελάχιστες απαιτήσεις σε ευθυγράμμιση ακριβείας.
