Περιγραφή Description
Διάταξη μέτρησης και ασύρματης μετάδοσης παραμέτρων ποιότητας θαλασσινού ή γλυκού νερού Device for measurement and wireless transmission of sea or fresh water quality parameters
The invention relates to a device for measuring sea or fresh water quality parameters - specifically temperature, turbidity and pH - below the surface of the water and wirelessly transmitting the measured values to a land-based device which in turn uploads the data to real time online.
The measurements of the quality parameters of the seawater or fresh water are basically done by sampling and transporting the sample to a laboratory and are not done in continuous time intervals, nor in real time, i.e. immediately. As a result, the number of measurements is small and the results are obtained after a long time since the sample will most often have to be transported to a remote laboratory. Additional quantities such as temperature and turbidity do not have exact values due to the time required to transport the sample. At the same time the sample is usually collected from the surface waters and it is not easy to choose for greater depths.

The present invention has the feature that the sensors are immersed in the water and take more than one consecutive reading while remaining in it. In addition, the container carrying the sensors can be located at a specified depth from the sea surface, which the user chooses before filling. In addition, there is the possibility to point the part of the device that carries the sensors at any depth and this is achieved with the help of the pulley and the excess of the rope that is tied to the buoy.

With the computer and with the electronic parts that accompany the base circuit (microprocessor), their programming is done in machine language and from the processing of the results, the graphical representations of the measured quantities as a function of time are obtained and the measured quantities are posted on a website on the internet.2
The device consists of two main structural parts. The first includes a shaped container (4), a buoy (6), a pulley and a body (1) which was a weight on the bottom. Inside the container (4) is the first circuit which is based on a microcontroller connected to three sensors (pH, turbidity and temperature) which project through the container towards the sea (5) after modifying it. In addition to the microcontroller is also connected GPS sensor which is attached to the buoy (9), with a transparent housing to seal it. The holes from which the sensors project are sealed with marine construction sealant and coated with film coater (liquid PVC). The microcontroller receives the values of temperature, turbidity, pH and geographic coordinates and transmits them wirelessly using a suitable electronic board which is connected to a high gain antenna attached to the buoy (8).The electronic circuit inside the vessel is powered by a battery rechargeable, the charging of which is achieved by a photovoltaic placed on the sign water (7). The container with the sensors can be tied in a simple way using carabiners, at the desired distance from the buoy. At the same time, there is a pulley (3) in the construction, with the help of which the necessary length of the rope is adjusted each time for placing the device according to the depth in the stitching position. The procedure followed is as follows: first the rope is tied to the base of the buoy and then the desired depth of placement of the sensor container is defined through its rings on the rope, measuring from the point where it was tied to the base of the buoy. The rope is then passed through the pulley and before its other end is tied to the buoy, the system (weight, pulley, sensor container) is lowered into the water, holding the free end of the rope until the weight reaches the bottom. Once this happens and before tying the rope to the buoy leave an excess of rope as defined by twice the "significant wave height" of the spot where the mooring is being made. We obtain the "significant wave height" data from sea wave mapping tables produced by meteorological services. In this way it is achieved to keep the sensor container at a constant depth since the section of rope from the container to the buoy maintains a vertical or optimal vertical position (in the case of waves), images 3,4. Furthermore, it is critical to mention the fact that the overall weight of the sensor container is set to be slightly greater than the buoyancy exerted on the container so that the composite of these two forces will push the container until the rope is stretched, in a vertical position. During the construction study, the weight of the container is intended to be slightly greater than the buoyancy so as to cause it to sink but at the same time not to transfer large forces through the rope to the buoy and cause it to sink further. An example of a study carried out and implemented is shown in figure 5. The pulley (3) has the ability to rotate entirely around an axis identified with the diameter of the pulley wheel, so as not to tangle the rope connecting the parts of the device that are in the water .
Τέλος οι μετρούμενες τιμές στέλνονται σε μια βάση δεδομένων η οποία με τη βοήθεια του μικροεπεξεργαστή τις αναρτά στο διαδίκτυο ως μεμονωμένες ή με τη μορφή διαγραμμάτων συναρτήσει του χρόνου After receiving the measured values from the sensors, they are transmitted by the antenna of the buoy (8) and received by the second part of it, by the antenna (10) of the second part of the structure, which is connected to an electronic circuit that includes a microcontroller (11 ) and which in turn is connected to a computer. The computer is used to program the operation of all the electronic parts of the device, in machine language, and it processes the data and creates graphical representations of the values measured by the sensors, as a function of time, while its position is also determined on a map of the first part of the arrangement (figure 1) located in the sea. Finally, the measured values are sent to a database which, with the help of the microprocessor, posts them on the internet as individuals or in the form of diagrams over time
In figure 1 there are three sensors (5) in the container but this does not exclude the possibility of additional sensors. It is also possible to use several devices such as that of figure 1 which can be connected to the same base circuit.
