Abstract

The present invention relates to an integrated ballast water treatment system (Figure 1), comprising a primary filtration step (1), a separation step with a cyclonic separator (2) and a vertically positioned cilindrical electrolyzer (3). Current is controlled by the indication of a free chlorine sensor (3a). Additionally, the present invention relates to de-ballasting procedure (Figure 2) with ballast water that was treated with a device according to the present invention and comprising of neutralizing of the disinfected ballast water with a solution of reducing agent (5) characterized by a free chlorine sensor (6) that monitors the total chlorine level in the water to be discharged and that controlls the dosing of the reducing agent (5a) so as the total chlorine level in the discharged water is 0.1 mg/L. In deballasting point there is another chlorine sensor (6a) that monitors concentration of the discharge after the neutralization step.
