Abstract

997,794. Stoppers. RONSON CORPORATION. Feb. 13, 1962 [Feb. 13, 1961], No. 5419/62. Heading B8T. A dispensing spout 22 has a valve body part 21 pivotally mounted, by pins 28, 29, in a valve housing 11, e.g. of polyethylene, pressed into sealing engagement with a frusto-conical flange 17 of a liquid container opening; thus the spout passage 23 may be brought into register with a passage 25 to dispense liquid, e.g. cigarette lighter fluid, therefrom. The base 12 of the valve housing has a convex upper surface and is deformable, and is flexed downwardly somewhat by its engagement with the convex surface of the part 21 to provide a liquid tight seal therebetween. In a modification, the lower end of the valve housing has a depending skirt which is snapped over the neck of a container, and trunnion members extend from opposed walls of the valve housing and engage recesses in the valve body of the spout.
