995,247. Distortable frameworks; foundations for buildings. BROCKHOUSE STEEL STRUCTURES Ltd. Oct. 30, 1962 [Aug. 15, 1961], No. 29361/61. Headings E1A and E1S. In a stanchion assembly as claimed in Specification 870,137 the base plate 10 has a frusto-conical sealing 11, 14 to accommodate a bearing plate 17 fixed to the stanchion 15. The stanchion 15 is welded to a saddle 16 which in turn is welded to the plate 17 mounted with clearance on a slotted rod 18 by a cotter 21, the rod being fixed to the member 11. The unit 10, 11 may consist of two separate parts welded together or constitute an integral casting.
