In a pinless hinge made from plastics material, pivoting is obtained by thinning a base-plate to form the two leaves of the hinge, so as to provide a thin pivot portion, and in which the pivot portion is forced at the base of an arch-shaped recess or recesses 2. Serrated webs 10 or pairs of screws are provided for securing the hinge to a frame and opening member. Various modifications are described, e.g. in which only one recess is provided, and its sides are of stepped formation, or are provided with interlocking tongues and slots. The securing means may be formed as extensions of the ends of the base plate in the same plane as the base plate. In an alternative arrangement, pins extending from the edge of the base plate may engage slots formed in a plate attached, for example, to a frame.
