Abstract
Refractories are formed by firing a mixture of 10-50% by weight of a sintered alumina/silica grain having an alumina content of 80-95%, and the remainder corundum. The unfired mixture may also include 4-12% of bonding clay. Firing temperatures of 2400-2900 DEG F. are specified. Specification 793,290 is referred to.
